Executive summary
The main purpose of this report is the analysis as well as evaluation of a process of the selected
organization that is Woolworths Limited (Woolworths). Different parts of the essay emphasizes on
different aspects of operation of Woolworths. The findings of the essay states that the main aim of
the operational activity of Woolworths is to ensure the effective operation of the company’s supply
chain for the effective supplying of goods and services to the end customers. For this reason, the
company has selected certain processes; such as the use of coordination in order to reach to
integrated operational programs, new methods of implementation for ensuring customer
satisfaction and others. At the same time, the operational strategy mix of Woolworths assures in
increasing the overall distribution of resources of the company. It is recommended to Woolworths to
ensure increase in resources channelization and to identify gaps in the customer designing process
for gaining operational efficiency. This essay discusses about certain performance objectives of

1.0 Introduction
Operational management is one of the important business strategy that has been
taken by most of the companies in the modern world of business. Woolworths is a big
company that is operating in the retail industry of the country. Now in the modern world of
business, it has been seen that problems that are being faced by the companies are crucial
in nature that are mainly related with the process of producing the goods and marketing the
goods into suitable place is also acting as one of the biggest challenge. However, the
importance of the study is lying in the establishment of strong co-ordination and control of
resources will be helpful for the development of better quality of products. Through the
study the operational process of the Woolworths Company it will be helpful in
understanding the overall resource distribution and how the company is utilising the overall
economy to flourish their business.
2.0 Description of the selected process
The operational activity of the Woolworths is to ensure the supply chain by setting
up huge level of vendors in the form of enabler that are supplying the goods in an effective
manner. Some of the supply enablers in the Australia that the company is having are New
Melbourne distribution centre, and many other. With the aim of delivering best quality of
goods to the consumers the Woolworths Company mainly looks into the matter of goods
and delivery standards. The company is continuously hiring and employing highly skilled
employees and specialists to indulge in better level of production that has enabled the
company to become one of the customer centric company. The company is always bringing
in high class of innovation in the product differentiation and marketing of products. One of
the major process that the company has taken in the form of using highly advanced
technologies that are mainly defining the business objectives of the company (Aguilera-
Caracuel et al. 2015).
Through the process of resource identification, the company has successfully
identified the gaps that are lying within the retail industry of Australia. Most of the
strategies that has been taken by the company is mainly aimed in positioning the company
in the retail industry. This is important in the sense that through the improved level of
communication, the company is mainly looking to increase the flowf configuration that will
