INTRODUCTION Management and operations is a branch that concerned with controlling, planning and designing the method of business production of services and products (Bolden, 2016). Through managing the overall activity of organization make their performance level higher than the other companies have. Leader and manager perform management function in the firm successfully through knowledge of leadership. TESCO is a British private limited company. There headquarter in UK, Welwyn garden city. Tesco mobile, tesco bank and Budgens are subsidiaries of the organization. Mr. Jack Cohen is the owner of the firm. This report explains the structure of company and management, it also defines the role of manager and leader. This study describes the impact of leaders and mangers in firm productivity and key operations. Thus, it included the efficiency of operational that can help in achieving business objectives and goals. This project explains the external environment factors impact on operational management and decision making by leaders and managers. PROJECT 1 1 Introduction of company and management structure: Tesco is one of the most popular retailer organizations. It provides its good quality grocery product and services to people with the help of 476000 employees (Park, Ungson, and Cosgrove, 2015). Company's delivery service is faster than another firm has. They made products for men, women and kids, like clothes, toys, gifts, food and wine etc. Tesco operate their business in many countries like France, Hungary, China, Poland, Ireland etc. successfully. Firm is owned by many partners, it was founded in 1919 about 99 years ago. Organization provide their good quality services to customers. It was a global organization that expands its business outside the UK in 12 countries of the world, now they want to spread it more and more with having many customers with good experiences while they are using their services or other things of TESCO. In industry there are 11 members of committee controlled by Dave Lewis who is the group CE. Company is based on hierarchical structure that reflects their huge size of business. Cohen is the first chairman in 1947 to 1970 but at the present John Allan is the chairperson of company, they join this position
in March 2016. Alan steward is the financial executive, after changes in board four non executive directors are retired and three get hired in the committee members. All these levels play there important role through controlling and commanding (Jones Christensen, Mackey, and Whetten, 2014). Store manager, Personnel and non food trading manger are very important part of the whole managing structure. All they are connected with each other through this formation. Through reducing stages of the structure organization can increase the flexibility. 2 Role of leaders and managers Tesco is famous for their good quality products and services. In the organization it can manage their whole production activity through managers and leaders; they both play their different role for making business more successful than its competitors. Manager role: this position is full of heavy responsibilities to manage the whole performance activity in t Tesco. They are the producer, coordinator and planner or dealer (Chen, Zhang, and Wang, 2014). They help in making company more successful in the marketplace. In the firm they give direction to workers or other staff members for completing their task. They also had known as many names, according to their work performances in various levels in the industry. Business development: development of business is very important in firm. In many conditions, senior level manager are responsible for controlling the functions of business. CEOs, executive and CFOs are also known as managers. Staffing managers: it has been completed by manager, thus for doing this activity they have the knowledge of various functions of Tesco. They play their job role through making effective team who performed its work within effective workforce. Manager as innovator: manger hasthe skill of innovation they can innovate products and services according to people needs.Innovator quality is making them successful in their personal and professional lives.Innovation is very important for making business more powerful and successful than its competitors. Manager need to make innovation that raise their organization position better in marketplace. Leader roles: leader is also as important as the manger has in the organization. Their part in firm is to influence worker’s behavior in many ways. They put a clear goal for firm, guide and motivate employees throughusing motivation techniques. Leadership is the skill that every leader has to carry within their professional activity. The main role of leader is motivating people who are working under their management; leadership and management both are different to each other but having the same aim that is for achieving business objectives, goals that make Tesco more successful than now. Leader play there role through managing the overall work performance of employees. Leader role in organization is to motivate workers in workplaces. That can improve their performance better than now. Different between leadership and management: Managementleadership Management is a group of people who make new competitive strategies, which help in difficult situation of organization. Leadership is a quality that help managers and leaders to mange employees work performance in the company.
3. Management and leadership theory Company faced many situations during running its business activity. They face negative and positive both conflict in firm. Lack of motivation increase employee turnover in workplace, this will impact on production of Tesco products and services (Azar, and Vaidyanathan, eds., 2016). Leader can help in this situation through motivate workers and support for completing their task. Sudden conflict situation between two or more employees can controlled by good management and leadership quality. Both work together for achieving business objective and goals. New competitors entry in marketplace is another situation of organization that impact on their profitability and decrease their sales. They make new plans and strategy which are very helpful to control the situation of tesco (Peaucelle, 2015). Henri Fayol’s theory is perfect way to define the management and leadership role and characteristics. There are some stages that can apply in various company situations that are: Planning: manager make their plans in the difficult situation of organization. Through planning they can save firm in any conditions at every stage. They can create schedule or plans in business process. Organizing: manger also help through organizing things and goods that are required by employees, people or the other staff members. Commanding: manager need to make good commanding overall the activity of business. They provide information of rules and regulation in work areas. Through motivating they can support them as well. Coordinating: coordination is the best way to motivate employees and build moral in them for completing their task that is very important in organization business success. Healthy coordinating directly impact on management and leadership function. Controlling: this is the last stage of Fayol theory which has to be needed for manager and leader both when they are playing their effective role.
4. Management by objectives and Chao theory Chao theory: is a piece of arithmetic. It focused on very sensitive stages of organization. Few changes effect the business system behavior completely. This theory tells to owner of company that little changes in production can Impact on overall functions(Norman, 2014)of the firm. Some managers do not focused on the method of changes that affect its business, thus according to this theory leaders and other management departments does not make long term future prediction, they need to create very small term process that help in making decisions in Tesco. Management by objectives: it means that management is a technique where employees and manager or leader perform together towards achieving set goals. (Higgs, and Dulewicz, 2016). Through this process tesco leaders and other members plan their event or task to achieve business objective and goal to make organization more successful and powerful in marketplace. This will help in identifying and plan something for completing task that also help in make success or growth of firm. Both of this theory impact on business profitability. They can improve business performance levels and management stages. Thus, all the theory can impact on company profitability of Tesco. Through taking guidance of seniors manager take their decision. 5. Impact of leaders and managers activity on Tesco Leaders and managers they both are every effective for making business more successful, within having a great leadership quality, skills, behavior and knowledge of many functions (Macdonald, Burke, and Stewart, 2017). They have the understanding of different policies and rules that help in controlling the employees and other workers in Tesco Company. Mangers give direction to firm for achieving their aim or motive. Organization recommends motivation theory that help in motivating their employees, which increase their interest to perform within high effective workforce.

CONCLUSION By summing up this report it has been concluded that management and leadership both are plays very important role in organization. Manager can mange or control overall activity of firm, leaders motivate employees and manager organize and plan new strategies or ideas that impact on firm productivity. Chaos theory, management theory affects the performance of company and workers.
