INTRODUCTION
Project management is considered as the whole planning as well as implementation of
particular project. This is the essential task which enable firm to manage their projects
efficaciously and accurately. Operation management is defined as a term that involve several

and Gorod, 2016). As per the scenario the chosen company for this report is Next PLC and
Portakabin. Next plc which is a leading retail firm that deals in clothing, home and footwear
products. Portakabin is the growing modular building innovator which operates in about 6
countries. The headquarters of both firms are in UK. The purpose of this report is to review the
implementation of operations management principle, prepare a continuous improvement plan.
Moreover, the stages of PLC is applied in the provided project. Apart from this, effectiveness of
PLC in application to selected project is also discussed in this report.

Overview of organisation
The firm selected for this particular report is Next Plc, it was developed in year 1869
through Joseph Hepworth. It is private company that perform its enterprises into retail industry.
This is the British firm that sells cloths, footwear and home products at international level.
Respective company have approx. 700 stores from which 500 are in United Kingdom as well as
rest 200 are in Europe. It has overtaken by the Marks and Spencer in year 2012 and is listed in
London stock exchange and FTSE index. It operates in many countries like Ireland, Russia,
Kuwait and others. Moreover, it has about 43970 staff that performs there for the achievement of
