TASK3
P3. Application of PLC
Whirlpool is USA based company planning to launch big sized television having minimum
size of 58 inches. This will need more efforts, time and money needed in order to implement all the
plans in more effective manner so that no other problem arises. In dynamic environment changes
are coming in rapid manner so in order to cope with all the challenges of organisation company
need to incur expenditure on research development process so that products and services are
introduced by using creative and innovative techniques in order to gain competitive advantages over
competitors. Research department must collect all the information and data I.e. both primary and
secondary and retain all the things which is relevant for their business purposes. In order to expand
the business whirlpool is planning to come in large scale television market which has minimum size
of 58 inches in order to enhance their growth and productivity (Bullinger and Warschat, J. eds.,
2012). Although the execution need huge amount of money which company require to spend after
considering all the risky factor so that in future they earn higher profits.
The term PLC stand for product life cycle that tell about the overall life of particular product. This
cycle become effective measures in order to evaluate the sustainable position of goods and services
in external market. Further at the time when company launching new product in the market then in
such circumstances such mechanism has been adopted. The PLC is divided into four stages which

Introduction stage:- This stage consider as first stage of PLC in which researcher plan to launch
their idea in the form of product in market. Further decision regarding quality of product and price
has been ascertain. Basically this project take at-least 2-5 weeks.
Growth stage:- Under this stage different strategies related to marketing techniques are adopted in
order to create awareness among customers regarding the availability of goods and services in
market. The main criteria of this stage is to create good image in the eye of customers so they
charge premium price from customers and earn huge profits.
Maturity stage:- This stage is the hold period of company where they gain good brand image and
trust of customer. Now product of company is stuck at particular position from where they neither
grow or decline. So, in order to enhance growth some creativity require in this stage.
Decline stage:- This is considered as last stage of PLC where the product of company came to last
stage from where the chances of their development is not possible. If corrective action is not taken
at appropriate time period then it hide from customer quickly.
Therefore, whirlpool must examine the PLC model in their new product i.e. long sized television
screen in order to strengthen their product portfolio (Cook and et. al. ,2011). Apart from it different
management and leadership skills has been used in order to accomplished overall objectives and
goals of company.
Therefore Whirlpool need to use PLC at the time of introducing new design and technology in
electric items that help the company to get the productive outcomes from this cycle and company
need to examine the graph of deli-cement and increment in whole PLC cycle on the basis of which
changes can be made in whole structure of projects.

Project Life Cycle- It is the sequence of the phases that the project goes through its four
stages from initiation to its closure. These defined all the features from the start of the project to its
closure, within which all its objectives are met. Four phases of Project Life Cycle are as follows-
Initiation- Under this phase, project manager within the respective organisation identifies a
business need, a problem or a opportunity to start up the purpose of the project in a effective
manner. This step also considers the objective of the project as well as identifies whether the
project is feasible or not.
Planning- Under this step when the project is been approved, project initiation document is
made by the manager of the respective organisation. In this phase project work is break
down into smaller tasks as well as teams are build and schedule is made for the completion
of assignments. Under this step smaller goals are made so that it can be achieved effectively
and creates potential of success for the company.
Execution- This step is concerned with effective execution of the project and this step
converts the plan into action. Here the role of the project manager is to keep the work on
track, organise the team members, manage timelines and to make sure that the work is done
according to the original plan made.
Closure- When the team has completed the task on the project and completed all its roles
and responsibilities, it defines the closure phase. Under this phase final deliverables need to
be provided as well as to release the project resources as well as determines the success of
the project. Here the project manager analyses the project performance to analyse whether
the project goals are met or not. It analyses the team performance and documents the project
closure to make sure that all the aspects of the project are completed within the set time
frame.

reliability, time period and scope of that operations on the basis of which forecasting has been done
whether project become successful in future or not (Eadie and et. al. ,2013). Further, PLC must
evaluate such development plan which is utilised in developing effective project life cycle for new
