OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES FOR RN AND APRN 2
1.0 Two opportunities for RNs and APRNs
According to the research, it has been identified that the first benefit for the APNs and
RNs associated with the reviewing of healthcare policies is through professional organizations.
For reviewing any kind of healthcare policy, the registered nurses can directly contact
professional organizations including the American Academy of Nursing, Emergency Nurses
Association, and American Nurses Association (Milstead & Short, 2019). It is the duty of the
professional organizations to ensure the nurses about the effective implementation of policies on
them.
The second benefit that the APRNs and RNs could get is via their workplace. The most
crucial duty of the nurses is to provide good healthcare to patients with the utilization of
healthcare delivery events and programs (Monsees et al., 2018). When a healthcare policy is not
capable of promoting quality care, then the APRNs and RNs can ask for reviewing the healthcare
policies.
2.0 Challenges associated with the identified opportunities for RNs and
APRNs
Many nurses do not show interest in joining professional organizations due to the
complexity involved and some of the nursing associations are found to have poor leadership
qualities. Due to this reason, professional organizations can create challenges for RNs and
APRNs (Lee, Chiang & Kuo, 2019).
