Introduction
Dharma Learning Services is an organization which specializes in training and coaching
in leadership and coaching. Currently the organization has three staff who are marketing

manager who is Jenny Black, training coordinator who is Helen Goldsmith, and the overall
manager John Smith. Several trainers and coaches are hired on contract when need arises. As an
IT professional, I will highlight how Dharma can migrate from the current windows to Windows
10. This report will contain nine parts what is needed on the migration process.

Task 2: Operating system used by the organization
Windows 8.2 is an operating system which was introduced by Microsoft as part of
Windows NT family. The operating system was first realized on August 27trh 2013 but made
available on October 17th 2013. The operating system was aiming at addressing some of
complains from windows 7. Table two below lists some of the features of windows 8.1 (Halsall,
2013)

Booting With windows 8 one has the ability to bypass
Microsoft tiled start screen and able to boot directly
to the desktop. Here one just clicks the desktop tile
and right click anywhere on the windows 8.2

Memory management Windows 8.1 has an improved memory
management to the previous windows versions
Process Management A process tab is shown directly on task manager
tab. Windows has an improved process
management as compared to the previous windows

Disk management With windows 8 it has an advanced function like
Metro-style touch interface. The advanced features
of disk management include extending a volume,
shrinking a volume, converting an empty MBR to
GPT and vice versa,
Device Control Compared to other previous versions, with windows
8 one has the ability to control other devices.
Print management The print management features enables one to
install several printers.
User Interface The interface of windows has an app selector. It
also has a modern and metro style
Task 3: Installation and configurations
Task 3.1a: Video player software
To start with one can run VLC website on Windows 95 and higher versions by using
kernelEx. The recommended way to install VLC is using an installer package.
Steps for installing and configuring VLC
Step 0: One needs to download an installer package from the VLC download page. After
downloading the installer package one then continues to open the file by double clicking on the
file to begin the installation process. On windows 10; there is usually a User Account Control
UAC thus one has to get administrator permissions by clicking yes (Iachello & Hong, 2013).
