The management of people forms an integral part of an organization. The primary reason why

together as a team in an organization. Hence, it is very important for the different individual in

Theories of Motivation:
Herzberg's Theory
States that there are certain factors which
causes job satisfaction and then there are other
factors, which cause dissatisfaction (Corno
2016).
The Maslow`s theory states that an individual
has 5 levels of needs and they follow a
succession order.
Motivation can be described as an effort made by the
organization in order to encourage the employees so as to
encourage them to work harder for the welfare of the firm in the
long run of the enterprise (Peters 2015). If an employee is well
motivated then the performance of the employee is quite good
and the productivity of the organization tends to increase.
WAYS TO MOTIVATE
EMPLOYEES:
Encourage participation
Support the employees in
their career development
Provide bonus and
appreciation
.
Leadership can be defined as a
theory whereby the manager in
an organization needs to act as a
guidance of the different
employees in an organization and
take them towards the path of
success (Antonakis and Day 2017).
A leader has a great role to play
in an organization whereby the
individual tends to help the
employees in achieving the vision
and mission of the organization
and take the organization to new
heights.
There are different Leadership styles like Democratic, Transformational
or Autocratic which an individual can choose to follow.
Furthermore, for assistance there are different leadership theories and
approaches which are available for an individual these are , Great man
theory, Trait theory, Transformational theory among others (Northouse
2018).
Change is often considered to be
an integral part of an
organization and for this reason,
it becomes extremely important
for the different managers in the
firm, to realize that people go
through different stages while
accepting changes (Kuipers et al.
2014). The diagram describes the
different stages through which
an individual goes through while
adapting through change and is
commonly known as the Valley
of Despair.
Change management
forms an essential part of
an organization as it
tends to help the
organization to adapt to
the changes which take
place in the environment.
Employees need to be
motivated at this stage
and helped in order to
make the process easier
for them (Hayes 2018).
