This report discusses the significance of individual learning theories and employee training and development in organizations. It emphasizes the importance of skilled and trained employees for better functioning and higher revenue generation. The roles of human resource are also explored in this context.

INTRODUCTION
It is very important for the organization to have skilled and trained
employees working in the organization so that there is a better
functioning of the organization. This is going to help the business get a
higher revenue and higher competitive advantage in the organization. In
this report there is a discussion on individual learning theories and
employee training and development in the organization so that the
organization can have a better functioning. The roles of human resource
are also going to be discussed in the further report to understand these
factors effectively in the organization.
MAIN BODY
A) Individual learning theories
There are a lot of factors which can be helpful for organization to
have an effective functioning and be able to have a strong workforce in
the organization which is going to be very helpful for a long run of the
organization in the market. In an organization there is a requirement of a
lot of factors for the employees of the organization to give their best in
the organization. The must be a rewards or something in return for the
hard work which the employees put in the organization for the better

functioning and operations of the organization. There are a lot of
competitors in the industry of Marks & Spencer which has to be taken
care of by the organization by improving the internal environment more
effective and efficient in the market (Tortorella and et.al., 2019). It is
very time consuming for the management to make the learning of each
individual of the organization match the standards of the organization or
make them learn the organizational objectives and the measures to
achieve them.
The leaders and the human resource can help the management to
make the individuals understand and learn the organization effectively
so that they can give their best in the organization which is going to be
very effective for the organization to function within (Wheatley and
et.al., 2019). It is very important for the leaders to have a healthy
relationship with each and every individual in the organization so that
there is a common understanding between them which is going to help
the organization to improve. Changes are very essential because that is
going to make the satisfaction level of the customers increase and the
organization will be able to have a better functioning. There are
instructions which are given to the individuals by the leaders so that the
employees know in which direction they have to function which is going
to make the organization have a better functioning for them (Goldberg
and Wilkinson, 2019). There has to be a balance between a professional
and a personal life of the employees which is being provided to the

employees of M&S so that they can be satisfied for working with this
business. The behaviour and emotions of the employees in the business
also has to match the standards of Marks & Spencer which is why there
are a lot of recruitment processes which are followed in the organization
so that there is a better functioning and the organization will be able to
have a better and higher revenue generation.
Improvement in Marks & Spencer is being done from time to time
so that they can get a competitive advantage in the market which is a
very essential factor for the organization and help the organization to get
higher revenue in the market. This is going to make the working
atmosphere in the organization healthier for the workforce to work in
and the productivity in the organization is going to be better.
Motivational theory of learning is very effective in Marks & Spencer for
a long run in the market which is making the satisfaction level of the
company, customers and the employees match (Marcu, 2016).
Motivation gets in a lot of ideas and innovation in the organization
which is very important to understand the needs of the customers as
well. Customers have to be understood only then the designing of the
products takes place in Marks & Spencer which is done by the
employees of the organization. Employees also have to be included in
the decision making of the organization so that they can the functioning
and also give their point of views which is going to make the
productivity level and the quality of the products of the organization

improves. In today’s competitive market it is very important for the
agreement of the employees as well because they are the backbones of
the organization. There is a fair treatment of all the employees which is
why the motivation in the form of rewards, appraisals, promotions, etc
are given to the employees from time to time so that they can give their
best. There is a lot of experienced staff in Marks & Spencer which are
helping the other employees to grow as individuals and understand the
working of the company (Mehta, 2018). Punishment is also given to the
employees of the company who do not work to the standards of the
organization and the human resource has the right to fire the employees
as a punishment in the organization so that there is a better functioning.
Actions of the employees are also learnt from the organization so that
they can take decisions according to the situation in front of them which
is going to help the organization to have a better functioning.
B) Employee training and development
There are a lot of changes which are taking place in Marks &
Spencer all the time so that the company can reach the satisfaction of the
customers and also their expectations from the organization. There is an
expectation which the organization have from the employees even after
all the changes which are taking place in the organization and it is very
important for the employees to meet those expectations in the

organization so that they can have a better functioning (Franken and
Wattenberg, 2019). This is going to be very beneficial for a long run of
the individuals as well because there is going to be a professional
development which can lead to promotions and appraisals in the
organization. The target of the organization has to be met and the
employees are the backbone to that objective which is why it is very
important for them to have a comfortable processing and operations in
the organization. It is very important that the organization includes them
in the changes which are taking place in the organization so that there is
a better functioning which is going to help the organization have high
revenue generation (Mehta, 2020).
There are a lot of technological changes which are taking place in
Marks & Spencer’s which have to be adapted by the employees of the
organization so that they can have a higher productivity level. The
demands of the customers is increasing therefore it is very important for
the organization to get in new improvements in the organization as well
so that they can have a better functioning which is going to help the
organization have a better functioning. The leaders and human resource
department have to make sure that all the individuals of the organization
are getting the attention they need so that they can find the changes
friendly and can get used to them quickly. It is very important to adapt to
the changes quickly because that can decrease the productivity and the
quality of the products (Lykourentzou and et.al., 2019). There are no

human errors which are taking place in the organization because there is
a use of high technological standards in the organization. The
technology is also updated from time to time in the organization but that
required high investment as well which the organization can afford.
Technological improvement can help the organization to have cost
friendly operations because there will be a requirement of fewer
employees in the organization which is going to require less of training
and development of them. Employees who are being hired in the
organization are skilled and knowledgeable which is a great advantage
for the organization for a long run in the market.
Communication in the organization can also help in the training
and development in the organization. There are a lot of changes but all
the individuals cannot be given training and development sessions for a
long time because that is again going to make the productivity of the
organization fall (Watson, 2017). There have to be smart, motivated and
skilled employees which are going to be hired in Marks & Spencer so
that there is a better functioning in the organization. Communication
should do its job in the organization so that the leaders can just monitor
them and there is not too much pressure on any of the employees of the
organization. Pressure makes the working slower or standards of the
organization will not be able to be met. Marks & Spencer is following
the trends of the customers which are why the organization has to keep
inventing and innovation the existing products in the organization so that

there is a better functioning (Turner, 2020). The employees have to have
the knowledge of all the changes and the operations which are taking
place in the organization so that they can feel welcomed and they give
their best in the organization. There must be a sense of transparency in
the organization so that the employees know how much efforts are
require in the organization and the organization will be able to function
according to them.
Marks & Spencer has created a standard for them in the market
which the organization has to live up to all the time. The performance of
the organization can not fall otherwise the organization will lose their
loyal customers to the competitors in the market. It is very important for
the organization to match their standards and improve all the time and
not fall in the market. There is a use of high quality raw material in the
organization which is being provided to the customers and it is very
important for the organization to live up to those so that they can have a
better functioning for themselves (Fuller, 2018). Training and
development is a time consuming process in the organization but it is
very important for the organization to do so, so that they can have a high
service and performance in the market. There are a lot of methods which
are present in this training and development which the leaders and the
human resource department can use but they have to make sure that all
the employees of the organization know their functions and duties in the
business so that they can work efficiently. The employees should get a

lot of experience from this training and development so that they can use
those in the operations themselves. There has to be an exchange of
knowledge and experience in this processing so that they know what has
to be done which is going to be very effective for the organization
(Fenton, Gallagher and George, 2019). There are goals set for the
employees as well in the organization so that they can work and reach
them so that the measuring of the objectives of Marks & Spencer can
take place which is going to be very helpful for a long run of the
organization.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that there is a need of
having a strong workforce in the organization so that the processing and
operations of the organization do not get affected. The competition in
the market is increasing which has to be taken care of by the
organization so that there is a better functioning and the organization
will be able to have a better operation. Trends in market keep changing
which has to be adapted to by the businesses as well which is going to
make the organization have a lot of changes and the organization is
going fulfil the needs and reach the satisfaction level of the customers
which is going to help the organization have loyal customers.
