INTRODUCTIONOrganisation behaviour is study of analysing and assessing the behaviour, action, attitude,nature, working criteria etc. In a simple word it can be said that organisation behaviour is aprocedure of identifying and observing employees who works within the company. In anorganisation, culture and structure is very important for carry out all functions and activities inwell effective manner (Alessandri and et.al., 2012). With help of impressive culture andstructure, management can manage its entire work and activities in such manner as objective canachieve in better manner. It is very important for management to manage the performance ofemployees in such manner as business unit can achieve highest and effective outcome. Thepresent report have major objective is to understand the behaviour of employees and its impactupon the organisation objective. Furthermore, relationship between culture and structure and itsimpact on the performance of GlaxoSmithKline Plc has been also discussed in this report. GSKis a healthcare company which serves vaccines, medicines and other health related products.TASK 11.1 Comparison between structure and culture that affect the performance of GSKIn an organisation, structure and culture is very significant by which healthy workingenvironment can create at workplace. If management adopts effective structure and culture thenit becomes easy to carry out business activities in smooth manner. GlaxoSmithKline Plc andAcadia are two different health care company which serves different health care product andservices to its customers in the market (Avery and Jing, 2011). These two organisation have theirown size, scope, culture, purpose, practices and policies that helps in achieving its determinedobjective. GlaxoSmithKline Plc and Acadia have adopted specific and suitable organisationculture and structure on the basis of nature of business and set objective.Organisation structure is very important aspect at workplace through which roles,responsibility and authority can assign to employees within the several functional departments.With assistance of the structure, management can easily delegate the responsibility and authorityamong various departments. GlaxoSmithKline Plc have adopted flat structure of organisationunder which have fewer management level. Employees can easily communicate with upper levelas well as lower level as they are free to share their views, opinion and suggestion withmanagement (Baur and Haase, 2015). In this structure, excess layer of management are removedthrough which coordination among various department can become improve. On the other hand

Acadia healthcare company have adopted tall organisation structure under which full control ofthe higher authority upon the lower level of management. In this aspect, communication andcoordination among the department is complex as compare to flat organisation structure.Furthermore, employees are not free to share their views and opinion in the decision makingprocedure within the company.Organisation culture is a kind of system of belief and value that regulate how employeesbehave and interact within the company. Every corporation have its unique personality throughwhich it manages its working as well as employees. By interaction of employees, their working,dressing sense, punctuality, style of work and job, culture of the organisation can identified.GlaxoSmithKline Plc have adopted task culture through which personnels works under the teamand accomplish their assigned works. The GSK work place have an open environment wherethere are many opportunities for employees. It allows its workers to quick chat withmanagement and co workers (Blanchard, 2010). On the other hand Acadia health careorganisation have adopted power culture under which all decision of business is taken by topmanagement and employees are not supposed to share their view with management. In thisculture, management imposed strict rules, regulation and command over employees.1.2 Explanation about the relationship between the organisation's structure and culture that affectthe performance of GSKOn the basis of discussion it has been analysed that GlaxoSmithKline Plc and Acadiahome have different culture and structure through which its management carried out its businessactivities and set objective accordingly. Organisation culture and structure have directrelationship with each other and it can influence the performance of company. It is veryimportant for corporation to adopt suitable and effective culture and structure of businessaccording to the employee's responsibility, ability and working style so as determined objectivecan address in more effective and efficient manner (Bolkan and Goodboy, 2016). If company donot adopt culture and structure of business according to the objective, employees capability andresponsibility then it will affect negatively to the performance of business. As GlaxoSmithKlinePlc have adopted flat organisation structure and task culture under which employees are free toshare their views, opinion and issue with management and also free to communicate with coworkers.
