INTRODUCTION
Business organisation are formed and operated with a sole purpose of providing products
and services to the customer which best matches their needs and wants. Organisations conduct a
detailed research on type of offerings they are going to introduce to the public. Business run and
operate with an objective of continuous growth and development. In order to attain its objective
large business forms a effective organisational structure by dividing the various functions of
business into a different department on the basis of their nature and functionality(Wolniak,
2020). These functions are Production, Marketing, Human Resource and Finance. With proper
coordination among these functional areas organisation design and develop the activities of each
department directed towards the achievement of organisational goal. IOM electronic limited is a
regional; well established and recognised company with a work force of around 200 employees
with its operations in Manchester and Liverpool. This report covers different functions of a
business organisation along with the set of skills required in each of these functional areas.
MAIN BODY
Describe the various functional areas in business organisation
Organisations with a large area of operation and large scale of production divides the
activities of an organisation into different groups which are Production, Human Resource,
Marketing and Finance. The activities of these departments are clubbed together and are oriented
towards the achievement of organisational objective. These departments are governed by a
specialists in their fields of operations and hire the workforce according the skills and knowledge
required to work in a respective department. The functions in business organisations are defined
below :-
Production Department :- Production management in a business organisation plays a
signifiant role as this department is concerned with the conversion of raw inputs into a finished
products, further which is used by consumers. IOM electronics production management involves
planning, organising, directing and controlling the production activity in such a way that the
conversion of raw materials into the finished products are done within a budget of a company,
with the desired quality and free from defects(Wang and Wang, 2020). Production management
involves a varied functions which are :
