Executive summary
This paper is a case study about a company making an unethical decision to maximize their
profits. However, the company had failed because of the negative backlash. This paper talks
about the issues in the case study and aligns the issues with theories like neo-humanism and
radical structuralist theories that will help in understanding the reasons for the conflict and anger
that had resulted in the backlash. The paper will provide a risk management framework that will
help the company in the near future to make positive campaigns and also help the company being

Introduction
Risk in organisations is considered to be the potential for loss because of some kind of
uncertainty in the business. According to scholars, risk often arises in organisations due to lack
of proper regulations, operations, legal constraints, inefficient strategies and negative reputations
(Bromiley et al 2015). Risk in an organisation is considered to be inevitable and can arise at any
moment however it is important for organisations to analyze and make concrete decisions that
help in managing risks efficiently and properly so that risk do not arise in the business. It is also
important for organisations to take considerable measures to ensure risk management that help in
saving the company or organisations from loss and from the negative reputation of the company
that can pave way for loss of revenue. This paper is a case study that focuses o the issues and
risks of the case and provides recommendations that will help in avoiding situation that can
cause harm to an organisation or a company.
Discussion
Brief overview of the case study
This case study is about an organisation or a company who made a budget to donate to
nominated charities in order to gain a positive reputation in the market and increase their
customer base. The plan of the company was to give make this initiative a social media
campaign and also launch their initiative on social media so that the message is spread to a wide
audience and the people support the charities. The plan was positively received by the the
executive team of the company because of the exposure of the brand. Many employees of the
company thought it was a great idea and initiative and because of the demand of social media
