INTRODUCTION In present era, manager of each company always wants to adopt best practice in order to sustain long term growth and applies tool that will be beneficial in improving the overall performance (Burrell and Morgan, 2017). An organisational analysis is described as the business process that aid manager of company to understand about their yearly performance, look for the reason of problem, determine opportunities and develop effective plan that support in future growth and development. In general, an organisational analysis is a review of the basic components of an organisation. In this project Harrods is chosen to understand the impact of organisational analysis. This project cover, overview of company, SWOT analysis, role of employees, importance of training and development. Report also describe the important role in company, skilled and knowledge require to perform different task and various training and development program. MAIN BODY Overview about company. Sector & Size: Harrods is one of the most popular and famous largest department store in Europe. Recently there are more than 330 department covering 1.1 million sq feet of retail space. Recognised for its valuable sales, beautiful signature bags and food hall. Harrods sales various luxury and daily use item across seven storey, so that demand of large number of customer base can be fulfilled. However, studies indicate that some retail channels like women clothing and speciality apparel stores are becoming more popular over recent year, a potentially positive outlook for Harrods. Goal, Mission and Values. In today's world every departmental store wants to grow and provide almost every necessary item under one roof with the motive to satisfy their customer. The main goal of Harrods is to increase the productivity and profitability year by year so that their overall performance and market share can be improved. Manager of Harrods have main mission to become the number one department store across world that will deliver luxury merchandise. Customer satisfaction is part of the core value of Harrods. 1

They are defined as the backbone for each company, the more number of customer will result in more profit and increase market share. There are basically different types of customer that are classified on the basic of different aspect such as income, age group, education level etc. On the basis of Income:Customer's are divide in two group on the basis of their income level like high and middle. Customer with high income level are focused to buy most suitable product with perfect quality that fulfil their needs on time. On the other side middle level income group individual are willing to buy product that are available at decent price and product those do not have superior quality. In Harrods, different product are offered to large number of people so each customer comes to store in order to buy best product according to their income level that satisfy their needs more. Such as common people with high income level visit Harrods to purchase various luxury goods like cloths, bags etc. with superior quality at higher prices. They focus on quality not on prices. Whereas middle class customer first look on price of product and then made decision to buy them from Harrods or move to other stores. On the basis of Age group:Different age group people requires different product according to their demands. Like in Harrods children wants to buy innovative toys and other product with latest features that will satisfy them more. Whereas old people visit store in order to find the best product that will provide them more comfort. And customer with middle age group wants the best product according to lifestyle and fashion. All these customer group are intentionally wants the best product from Harrods so that their needs and requirement are fulfilled. They also desire to get the best sales and after sales services form Harrods that make them feel special. This help Harrods to become number one company in future. 2

Weaknesses Harrods do not provide any option for online customer, so they have to make physical appearance in order to know about the new product. Their main role is to ensure that shelves and replenish supplies of any goods that are running low. In Harrods, they make sure that shelves are properly arranged with the definite price labels so that customer can easily choose the suitable product. So workforce with more skills and professional abilities help in reaching the desired goals and objective in proper manner. So manager of Harrods wants to trained their existing employees and hire new professional worker so that goals can be reached. They provide on the job training and off the job training to their worker so that they perform different task in effective manner. On the job training: Manager use to assign different task and programs so that employees get the basic knowledge about the operational activities of Harrods. Worker are given different project and are guided to complete task according to timeline. Some of these are described below: Staffing:Manager needs to allot different task to their workforce according to their knowledge and skills that help in achieving desired task. So proper training and development must be provided to manager so that they can perform staffing function in proper and organised manner.
