INTRODUCTION
Organizational behaviour is defined as study of human nature, which drive the attention
of individual person towards conduct activities at workplace in productive manner. The current
assignment will be based on ASDA, which falls under list of top supermarkets in the United
Kingdom. The study will explain organization culture in line with specific theoretical model and
will also define how its culture improved business effectiveness with a focus on communication.
Furthermore, the report will justify role of organizational culture on employee motivation.
Lastly, it will clarify how firm can use business culture to enhance its success in the future.
TASK
Identifying organization culture in line with a theoretical model
ASDA is one of those supermarkets that are leading in the retail sector for a longer period
in terms of an increasing the number of the satisfactory customer base (Young and et.al., 2017).
Organization satisfy their consumers by offering valuable and quality services as well as
products, which its production management has produced after considering the needs of target
buyers. Along with that, it also takes initiative to motivate applicants by create a positive work or
organizational culture. By using a theoretical model, it is easy to understand and determine
ASDA culture. For example, Handy's model of organizational culture is one of the most common
theoretical frameworks that many individual used to identify types of culture which varied firms
are using in recent time (Edeh and et.al., 2019). The model defined four forms of culture that are;
Power culture-
When a power of decision-making is held by only one person in a company, it defines the
usage of power culture (Mashile, Munyeka and Ndlovu, 2021). There are certain regulations and
rules encompasses in this form of organizational culture. It gives rights to that person whether is
a leader or manager, to choose employees for rewards or a tag in term of employee of the year.
ASDA may use this culture, according to that it need to give authority to a responsible person. It
influences performance and morale of staff in positive manner. However, it also impacts in a
negative way, when power is used by leaders or managers in an ineffective manner in terms of
differentiation.
