Workplace emotions
Emotion are our feeling which we show in our daily life such as laugh happy etc. When
we work at the workplace it is important us to have joyful environment, so we can communicate,
create relation etc. Emotions at the workplace shows that how actually their organization treat.
Positive emotion- employees will be happy, and they will give their best to complete the task.
Negative emotions- Employees can be disagreeing or unhappy with the workplace environment
and it effect on their working performance.
Job satisfaction
' Job satisfaction is defined as the level of contentment employees feel with their job and it
also helps to measure if the employees are happy with their job. It is also important for me to
find out job where I can be satisfied with the work, working environment and salary. If I will be
satisfied with the job and happy with the job then I will enjoy working with that company.
Organizational commitment
Organizational commitments defined as a view of an organization's member's psychology
towards his/her attachment to the organization that he or she is working for. Here is some way
which can help companies to build the commitment.
Support- companies can support their employees by providing additional benefits.
Trust- As a leader I can create trust among the employee by understanding their problems

Employees motivation
Employees motivation is beneficial for the companies so it is necessary for them to keep
their workers motivated. Motivated employees give their best in the task and help company
achieve their task goals.
Motivational theories
Motivational theories are focused toward motivating employees by understanding their
needs, importance and their satisfaction. Maslow motivation theory is one of the best
motivational theory which is used by organizations to motivate their employees. Maslow explain
the Five human needs which can safety the needs and motivate them. Fine needs of theory are
social actualization, esteem, love and belongingness, safety needs and Physiological needs. As a
leader I can also use this motivational theory to motivate people who will work under me so I
can motivate them to give their best in the task and help me to achieve daily goals and
objectives.
Expectancy theory of motivation
The Expectancy theory of motivation is based on the idea that work effort is directed
toward the behaviours that people will lead to the desire outcome. This theory was introduced by
the Victor Vroom in 1965. the expectancy theory states that the workers motivation of how
much a single employee want a reward (value) The appraisal which the likelihood that the effort
will lead to the expected performance (Expectancy) and the beliefs which the performance will
lead to the reward (Instrumentality)
Equality theory of motivation
The equality theory of motivate deals with the value of themselves to the others in the
simpler situation based on the inputs and the outputs. The Equality theory is focused to motivate
employees by treating the employees equally and fairly within the company. As a Leaders I can
use this theory by treating employees equally so can create trust among the employees and I
will able to lead them effectively.
Week 4
Decision making
Decision making is the process of making choice by identifying a decision, gathering
decision and identifying proper solution of the process. It is important for me to create decision-

making skills so can take decision when situation within the organization arrive and it will also
help me to solve it as soon as possible. In an organization leaders and managers of the company
take decision related to the companies issues and problems, so they can solve and take
competitive advantages.
Decision making process
It is necessary for me to follow the proper steps of the decision-making for the better
outcomes and solutions.
Creativity
Creativity is the process of doing a task or any work in the new way or ability to creating
new ideas. It is necessary for me to be a creative in my profession for the career development.
Reflection
First of all, I will need to find out the problems and opportunities within the company.
After identifying the problems I will collect the evidence of the problems. Then another task is
to take suggestion from the team members and select the best possible solution. In the end I
have to take action and review about the problem have been solved or not.
It can be possible to be creative if I use my imagination to do any work in simple and
better way. To become more creative in my work I will make the list of idea which come in my
mind and I will select the best idea among the all, so I can achieve the goals in my life and
develop my carrier as a professional.

Virtual Team
The Virtual teams can be defined as the group of people who work across the space, time
and company’s boundary, and they all indirect each other through the electronic communication.
As a leader I can create virtual team at the workplace because it can be beneficial for my team
to achieve the set goals and outcomes. I can explain the strategies to achieve the outcome
thorough the videos. Digital communication tools also make easy for us to be connected with
each of the group, and we can discuss about the problems together.

goals and objectives in fewer times. Team always consist various skills in employees, every

Effective communication
Effective communication skills are one of the most important skill that can help to
develop career as a professional. I can develop the effective communication skills by working
under the well experienced leaders and managers . Effective leaders will provide me benefits
such as- Building trust- Effective communication will enable me to create trust among the team
members. Better relationship- It will also help me to create better relationship with the
employees and understanding their problems etc.
Communication channel
there are some communication channels that I can use to communicate with the lower
level of employees. Verbal communication- Verbal communication include speaking with the
employees face to face and it also includes written communication in which I can communicate
with employees through a clearly written message. Non- verbal- In this communicate individual
use body gesture to communicate their message without using words. It is also methods which I
can use for the communication without disturbing other who are working on the place.
Communication barriers
There are some barrier which create problems for me to communicate clear message to
the other personal. One of the most problematic barrier lack of attention- If I am
communicating information to the employees and some of them are not having attention toward
the information then they will not able to collect proper information which will result in task
failure. Most common barrier in communication is physical disability- if any employees have
physical disability like hearing problem then there possibility that they cannot understand the
information properly.

Power to influence
Power In the context of organization is the capacity b of the person or team to include
other to achieve companies goals and their objectives in the business. It is important for me to
have power of influence other team, member to achieve the goals of the company.

Sources of power in organization
There are many sources of power in the organization and one of the is reward
management. Company can provide reward to their employees for their accumulation of the
goals. Employees will give their best in the task, and they will try to gain the set reward.
Another best way to bring power in the organization is training and development of the
employees. Training and development within the organization can help to employees to develop
new skills and it will also bring motivation in them.
Consequences of the power
Power can have used accord to the position in the workplace. If I am a leader of the
company then I am authorised to influence others but if I am on the lower level then I cannot
use power.
Refection
I personally believe that effective communication skills will help me to influence the
team members who are working under. It will enable them to give their best in the task and make

Leadership
Leadership is the art of motivating people or group of people toward achieving the
common team goals. As a leader it is necessary for me to develop skills which are required in
the effective leaders. Leadership qualities will help me to achieve success in my carriers and I
will able to successfully in my life. Some of the leadership quality like effective communication,
self-awareness, influencing etc. will help me to lead employees more effective within
organization. It will also enable employees to achieve goals and objectives in the team task.
Leadership styles
Lectureship styles are approaches used by the leaders in a different situation within the
organization. As a leader it is necessary for me to leadership style which can help me to lead the
employees effectively and lead the toward the common goals. Situational leadership style can be
beneficial for me to lead employees effective. In a situation leadership I will able to adopt style
according to the situation within the organization for example- For the employee's engagement

Organizational structure is the system which outline how some of the activities are

the company to have proper structure so information can be flowed without any barrier. The
nationalization structure is defined as the commination workflow, formal power etc.
There are two structures which can be used by the companies to create communication flow
within their business. Having proper flow of communication allow employees to get proper
information about their task and they can do their task effectively.
Tall VS flat structure
Tall structure is for the multinational companies and it is more complex than other
organizational structures. In this structure several layers of the management come between the
front line employees and the top management. Tall structure is beneficial for the companies
because it helps to build taller hierarchy.
Flat structure
Flat structure is much less tied and pyramid like in terms of how they organized by the
company. In the flat structure employees report or provide information to the many managers,
leading to the higher manager to the employee’s ratio.

Having a proper work structure can be beneficial for me to provide information to the top

It is important for the company to understand their business ethics, understanding of the
ethics within the business can lead the company toward the success. To create more ethical
organization, as a leader I need to work on the organization culture and solve the problem which
are faced by the employees. Effective work culture makes the company successful and they can
also show their presence in the market.
Organizational socialization
In the organizational socialization individual learn the values take social knowledge and
behave as expected. Social knowledge is necessary for the employees to assume their roles
within the company. For the socialization I will communicate with the new employees and make
them adjust to the company’s environment and I can also align employees value with the
company’s culture so I can create good relationship and better culture at the workplace.
Stages of socialisation
There are 4 stages of the employee’s socialization that I can use to be socialize with the
employees or make the socialize. First stage is Pre- Employment Socialization- It is for t6he
outsiders here it will make those people understand the job and tell about the company.
Encounter – n here I will test the expectations against the realities and it is for the outsiders.
Role management- Here I will make the employees practices their role and solve their conflicts.
Socialise outcomes- it is the last stage where we will able to find out that employees are

Change management
Change management is the process of implementing new strategies, polices and theology
that can change the company’s procedure. It is necessary for the companies to implement
changes within their company so they can take competitive advantages and show the presence
within the industry.

and fear of looking jobs. In this situation I can play important role by making people understand
that how it is necessary and how it will help company to achieve their business objectives.
Change management model
Change management models are used to remove barrier in the changes. As leader I can
also use this model to implement change within any barres. Lewin’s change management
model is one of the best model which is helpful in removing barriers. There are three stages of
lewin’s model
Unfreezing – It is the first stage where many of the employees will be resistance of the change
and they can be demotivated. In this stage I have to communicate with the employees and make
them understand the need of changes.
Change – In this stage change become real and employees can face the problems to understand
the task so will provide them training program.
Refreezing- refreezing step to be especially important to ensure that people do not revert back to
their old ways of thinking or doing prior to the implementation of the change.
