INTRODUCTION
Organisational behaviour (OB) is the study of human behaviour in organisational
settings, the interface between human behaviours and the organisation and the organisation itself.
Researchers mainly study the behaviour of human resource at work. Basically, it's the study of
both group and individual's performance and events within an organisation. The study of
organisation is required to monitor employee's behaviour at the organisation and to determine it's
affect on performance, motivation, training, etc.
Motivation is an underlying drive of individuals to complete tasks and goals of an
organisation. There are many factors that can influence employee motivation including
organisational structure, integrity of company's operations and organisational culture. Motivation
is an energy that excites employees to do work with their full efficiency which results in
maximum contribution. The organisation used in this report is HSBC Bank Malta. HSBC Bank
is the Maltese branch of the British multinational banking and financial services company. The
bank is headquartered in Valletta and has more than 30 branches within.

Using the knowledge gained in class and through other research, clearly highlight the relevance
of organisational behaviour in today’s environment while describing motivation and motivation
factors in organisations
Study of the organisational behaviour is very much important in an organisation. This
helps the employer to analyse the behaviour of the human resource in the organisation. This
helps in determining the techniques for the satisfaction of the employees which will improve the
quality of work and the performance of the organisation. relevance of organisational behaviour in
today's business environment. In simple terms, Organisational behaviour is the analysis of
human behaviour in an organisation which acts as an interface between human behaviour and the
organisation. According to Fred Luthans, “Organizational behaviour is directly concerned with
the understanding, prediction, and control of human behaviour in organizations.”
Motivation is one of the techniques which will ensure excited and satisfied employees
which will help them work with confidence and concentration that ensures proper and quality
work. Some motivation techniques are used that are the internal or external influences that
contribute to betterment of the organisation, contentment at work and employee involvement in
