INTRODUCTIONIn today's world, every company understands that if the position of firm is not strong andthey do not have effective team in their firm then they may get failed to attain their objectives.Behaviour of different individuals and policies of an enterprise make a huge impact on theperformance of organisation (Bissell and Dolan, 2012). Tesco is a successful corporation of theUK. They are present in various countries and almost 475000 employees are working in it. Thisassignment will discuss about cultures and power prevailing in an organisation and will showhow different policies influence work in a team and as individual. This file will include differenttheories of motivation. Tuckman model and Belbin's team roles will get covered in thisassignment as well along with thire significance. There are some theories of organisationalbehaviour that will also be discussed at the end of this report. LO 1P1. Influence of organisation's culture and power on individual and team performanceAn enterprise consist of different group of people. They have same goals to achieve andthey try to give their best so that common movement towards goal accomplishment can be done.Organisation culture of a company is made up of various values and beliefs which are shared byevery employee of the corporation. Dress, attitude etc. are some prime element which arecovered under this organisation. Tesco is a leading enterprise of retail sector and they understandthat having a positive and productive culture is important for the success of organisation.Handy's cultural typology is mentioned below for explaining different concepts relating to thistopic:Power culture – There are many companies that are operating their business on thismodel. Their idea can be understood by analysing a spider web. If an employee or any person ofa corporation is close to centre of power, than they will have more influence on organisationworking and policies (Chiboiwa, Chipunza and Samuel, 2011). There is one major drawback ofthis culture i.e. high probability of using authority for own benefit. It also has some advantageslike process of taking any decision is very short under this approach. If a company has thissystem then employees working at lower level management have high dependency on theirsuperiors. 1
