INTRODUCTIONOrganisational behaviour refers to scrutiny of collection of people or employeesand organisation. It acts as interface between organisation and human behaviour, andway they affect organisational settings. It includes investigation of accord of groups,structures and individuals on behaviour within organisation for enhancing efficiency andeffectiveness. It helps to analyse structure of working environment and looks atimportant factors by which they can be enhanced, it includes incentives, motivation,office environment and team development. Sam's Chicken is fast food organisation inUK. It has a total of 34 outlets. It was founded in 1990 by Sam Chandrasinghe. It has itsfirst restaurant in Wealdstone, Harrow, North West London. This report includes way inwhich culture, organisational politics and power possessed by individuals affect workingenvironment and their impact on performance of each individual who is part oforganisation. Focus is on motivational theories adopted by Sam's Chicken to satisfytheir needs so that their potential can be analysed and they can work as per potentialpossessed by them. This will eventually increase overall revenue efficiently andeffectively. After this idea of effective and ineffective team is also illustrated withdifferent leadership styles (Andriof and et. al., 2017). In terms of philosophies andconcepts organisational behaviour is analysed in both positive and negative manner.PART ALO1P1 Organisation’s culture, politics and power that influence individual, team behaviourand performance.Organisation Behaviour: Manner of interacting with group of people of anorganisation refers to organisational behaviour. To increase outcome from teammembers different behaviour theories are utilised. It is basically study of organisationsettings and human behaviour. For enhancing growth of Sam's Chicken, managersfollow various tactics like modifying way performance is analysed, modification ofcompensation structure and reorganisation of groups. Culture: It is defined as organisational principles, collection of values, marketsserved, strategies applied, language, global culture, leadership styles, habits, beliefs,public assumptions, behavioural norms and belief on system which helps to formulategroups to achieve common goal. Organisation is composed of subcultures within culture(Blyton and Morris eds., 2017). They have specific way to operate different approacheswhich provide services and products to market. Different types of culture are presentwithin Sam's Chicken and are categorised into:Creative culture: It deals with self-expression of individual. Within Sam'sChicken employees are allowed to use their sense of creativity and enhancethinking which is out of box. Goal of using such kind of culture is to beatcompetition within market by usage of innovation (Burrell and Morgan, 2017). Effects on individual, team behaviour and performance- Structured teamsstruggle as inconstancy and uncertainty will prevent them to achieve desired goal. Itneeds definite level of independence for proper functioning which requires remoteteams and self-management. This culture can be used in small industries which depend1

on agile framework. Individuals can give idea related to particular situation but it's notdefinite that it will lead to result or not. Collaborative culture: It is dependent on consensus, decision making and teamwork which is based on common goal. User satisfaction is used as successmetric, so focus is on customer and marketing services. This culture can befurther divided into two: Insider clubs which helps to develop group thinking;Analysis paralysis:decision making processes are prolonged.Effects on team behaviour, performance and individual - It is not for start-upsbut organisations who have high scale and look forward to become enterprise. In this allindividuals are involved in same process. They use matrix management to use thisculture. Performance of employees can be degraded as they have to work just oninstructions given to them, they are not supposed to work on any kind of activitiesrelated with strategies formation (Chen and Lai, 2014).Competitive culture: Winning is important for nurturing this particular culture. Itrelies on effective or tiger teams which are anticipated to accomplish particulargoal effectively. Leaders focus on dealing with competition in such a way thatthey can beat them and are motivated by team and personal achievements.Organisations cross their ethical boundaries and may cheat to achieve desiredresult. Effects on team behaviour, performance and individual - In this focus is onindividuals, so there is no point of encouraging team. Team cannot be formed as eachindividual is competing with each other to obtain a desired goal. Gelled team would notbe able to achieve goal which leader has set. Performance of individual can be affectedin a way if idea or methodology they are using goes in wrong terms and may lead tosomething else. Controlled culture: Focus is on objectives and data driven goals which requirealignment and order. Finance and manufacturing companies use this culture formeasuring performance and business plans. Benchmarks and improvementmetrics are used quarterly to verify that business is going in specified direction.Top-down structure is created by leaders of organisation (Cherry, 2017). CEOsare considered as Godfathers, who give direction to employees working underthem.Effects on team behaviour, performance and individual -This culture isfollowed by highly organised and structured team. They focus on utilization ofoperational and functional teams. It includes high extend of complex management andbureaucracy which prevent individuals from reaching their potential and they aredemoralized. Performance of individual is affected in a way that they are not able to usetheir own creativity. Politics: Organisational politics refers to usage of tactics to enhanceorganisational and personal interests. It can be defined as illogical behaviour ofindividual to vantage at workplace. It's necessary to defeat or fight politics. Executivesmust ensure origin of political capital and political landscape. Employees of Sam'sChicken who do not believe in hard work are involved in nasty politics to ensure theirsecure position within organisation. It is done to gain attention, appreciation andlimelight from seniors.2
