INTRODUCTION
Organisation behaviour is define as a study of interacting peoples within a group. It is
based on human behaviour with a motive to maximise outcomes from team groups. The purpose
of this is to solve problems by using designs structure and culture. This report is based on AM
holdings Ltd. which is incorporated in 2007 as containers and packaging products. It serves
confectionery, dairy and multimedia. The purpose of this assignment is leading with individual
and group performances in culture, politics and powers. I is a content of motivational theories
and concepts for achieving goals and objectives. The working teams of AM holdings is in
support with developing theories in dynamic corporation by influencing their behaviour. In an
organisational context it is their in evaluating individual behaviour in positive and negative
manner.

Organizational Culture
It is the study of people interacting in social and psychological environment of an
organization. Culture of an organization includes the environment to work which affects the
performance of individuals and teams. To understand the culture of an organization here Handy's
typology is taken into consideration which shows how different cultures affect the performance
of employees. Theories of organizational culture are discussed here:
Power Culture:
In this culture, power is divided among a few individuals who are responsible for all
decision making in organization. In decision making process no feedback is required by the other
employees of the organization. If this culture is followed in AM holdings ltd, the power of few
individuals helps in making quick decision. Apart from that, this culture also increase
bureaucracy in the organization.
Role Culture:
In this type of culture, Roles and responsibilities are assigned to specific employees and
teams. The roles is assigned specific to increase the productivity and performance of employees.
In AM holdings, this culture helps in performing the task quickly and perfectly. This culture also

increase the communication gap between the employees because each and everyone will be
engaged in doing their task.
Task Culture:
In this culture, task is divided among the teams and individuals according to the ability of
each employee. In AM holding Ltd, this culture helps in building the cooperation among the
employees which leads to higher productivity and good communication among the employees.
Person Culture:
This type of culture helps in pretending the employees superior to the organization. This
culture is not beneficial for the team and individual as it makes the employee overconfident, bad
listener. Thus, if this culture is followed by AM Holdings ltd, it will decrease the overall
performance and productivity of the team, individual and organization.
From the above cultures, AM Holdings ltd should follow Task culture because this
culture helps in increasing the understanding between employees. Apart from that, this culture
also helps in developing skills and experience of particular task assigned.
Power:
It is the ability of influencing other's personnel aspects related to the performance and
productivity of an individual and team. Power comes from the hierarchy of the company in
which the superior person affects the employee's performance. This affect implements negative
impact on employee's behaviour. Power of a person also makes him proudly, over confident and
less productive. Impact of power in AM Holdings ltd is discussed here:
Legitimate Power:
This power comes in a person who is having position in the organization. This positional
power comes from the hierarchy of the organization which decreases the productivity and
performance. If this power is implemented in AM Holdings limited, it can affect the whole
hierarchy of the organization because top level management is responsible of operating a
business.
Expert Power:
This type of power exists in a person who is having expertise in performing a particular
task. AM Holdings Ltd can be affected positively if this power is implemented in company. This
power helps in spreading the experts of person who are having that power. Therefore, Manager
of AM Holding Ltd should use such power.

Referent Power:
It is a type of power in which a leader impact his follower due to his interpersonal skills.
If a follower is loyal, humble, admirable then a leader can use this type of power. Basically, in
this power, leader misuse the ability of its follower. AM Holdings Ltd should ignore this type of
power because ethically this power decrease the faith and loyalty of the employee to the
organization.
Coercive Power:
In this type of power, a leader threats the follower on behalf of sanctions and
punishments. By using this power, leaders misuse their position to affect the employee's
performance and productivity. AM Holding Ltd should not follow this power because it makes
employees threatened of such punishments.
Reward Power:
This power helps an employee increase their motivational level and productivity. As this
power source arise when a leader offers reward for an employee in order to make their
performance better. AM Holdings can use this power to enhance the productivity of its
employees.
AM Holdings Ltd. can use Reward power in order to increase the motivational level of its
employees. This will increase the performance of its employees which helps in increasing the
productivity of the organization.
Political Impact
The employees who are not willing to do work will often used to involve themselves in
the politics so that they can secure their position in the organization. It affects the behaviour of
employees as below:
Decrease in overall productivity:
Playing politics in the working environment will always leads to low productivity. AM
Holdings ltd can face serious issues regarding political powers.
Affects concentration:
If politics is used in AM Holdings Ltd. this will decrease the concentration level of
employees because a person who should do their work will engage in politics.
Increase stress:

As a n employee is involving in politics it will increase the workload and thus results in
increase the stress.

effective achievement of goals in an organisational context.
Motivation is the method which motivate individuals for never give up their goals. It is
basically derived from word 'motive' which means the wants, efforts, needs within the people.
The wants, needs and desire influences the society, lifestyle and culture of the individual.
Now a days it is most important for every organisation to motivate the employees to perform
effectively. There are some motivation theories and techniques are used by the AM Holdings
Ltd. to motivate the employee's are as follows:
Content Theories:
Content theories are the earliest motivational theories which have the great impact on the
practice and policy of management. These are also known as need theories because they
determine the needs of the employees and what motivate them. It helps HR manager of AM
Holdings Ltd. to motivate the employees so that they achieve the goals. The company apply the
Maslow's Theory of content theories to motivate their employee's. These theories are as follows:
Maslow's Hierarchy of needs
This theory of motivation was developed by the American psychologist known as
Abraham Maslow. The theory explain that there are five level which shows the hierarchy of
needs and it progress from lower to higher order needs. Maslows Hierarchy of needs theory help
AM Holdings Ltd. to get best among their employees. The five levels are sub categorised in two:
Deficiency Needs
These are the basic needs which is needed for the security and survival. These needs are
as follows: Physiological needs:
Physiological needs are the important for sustainability of life. These includes food, water
, air. The basic needs which AM Holdings Ltd. fulfil such as by providing proper facilities for
water, lunch breaks and salary so that they keep motivated and perform well.
 Safety Needs:

Safety needs includes protection from harm, stability and security. As it is essentials for
the AM Holdings Ltd. to provide the employment benefits, safe working condition and job
security to their employees. These are important for each individuals satisfied with their job so
that they motivated and work independently towards the organisational goals.
 Social Needs:
Social needs includes the affection, friendship and care. So AM Holdings Ltd. Organize
some social events for the employees so they meet and become friendly with their colleagues.
This helps the organisation to gain the employees motivational level.
 Growth Needs:
When the Deficiency needs are satisfied then Growth needs arises. These needs are
mentioned below:
 Esteem needs:
Esteem needs includes confidence, recognition, self respect, and power. The HR manager
of AM Holdings Ltd. Believe its employees and give promotion timely to them so that the
productivity of the employees will be improve. And help them to achieve the individual as well
as the team goals.
 Self-Actualization:
Self-Actualization are the needs for advancement, personal growth and self fulfilment.
So, manager of AM Holdings Ltd. Ensures that their employees should be placed at the right
position for which they are capable. With this employees feel authorise and motivated.
Vroom's Expectancy theory:
This theory was proposed by Victor Vroom, believed that individual are motivated to
perform and accomplish the goals to the level they expect some action to be perform which help
them to effectively achieve the organisational goals. The HR manager of AM Holdings Ltd.
apply this theory to fulfil the needs of the theory and to achieve the targets. Vroom's Expectancy
theory is based on three beliefs as mentioned below:
 Expectancy:
Employees have different expectation and believes about their capabilities. So, the HR
manager of the organisation must find out needs of the employees like if they neeeds some kind
of resources, training and supervision.
 Valence:

This is the strength of the individuals preference with the expected reward for outcomes.
The HR manager of AM Holdings Ltd. Have the responsibilities to discover the employees value
and provide the task according to their capacity. So, they feel motivated and do the best.
 Instrumentality:
This is considered as the employees perception, about whether they get according to their
desire or not after the managers promise. So, to keep the employees motivated HR manager of
AM Holdings must obey what they promise to employees.
There are many different theories opt by the organisation to motivate their employees. As
motivation is the essential key to achieve the goals of the firm. It plays crucial role to determine
the behaviour of an individual as well as team members. AM Holdings Ltd. Company apply
Maslow's hierarchy needs of theory and Vroom's expectancy theory to motivate employees and
team members. With this application content and process theories of motivation and techniques
are their to achieve goals and objectives of AM Holdings Ltd. effectively and efficiently.
TASK 3
P3 An effective team with opposed to an ineffective team
An effective team is supposed to work with an aim of achieving objectives and having
clear understanding of individual roles. Team members of AM holdings are balanced by their
aspirations, delegation, abilities and skills with having perform job function in defined roles.
They are implementing effective process by having co-ordination with resources and reviewing
decisions. They are aware about effective decision making by having participation with other
team members. AM holding company is leading with open climate and honesty in building trust.
Cooperative relations are matter in this team for utilising evaluations.
An ineffective team is a team who undergo from lack of intention by feeling bored and
losing interest. Even when the informations are provided about the product team make disastrous
results. They are working with low unity of purpose and having no specific day to day target to
achieve. Errors and negativity impact makes on performance of individuals in a team. AM
Holdings determining problem areas in working place which having negative characteristics in
team members. A leader of team has assigned authority to members but they not equipped to
handle the task.

For opting an effective team by an aim of understanding practices made in between
teams. The main quality of a team is defined by cooperating with other individuals for a purpose
of accomplishing targets and objectives. They are dealing with clear and open communication
for understanding conclusions about messages.
Effective Team Ineffective team
 They are having comfortable and
relaxed environment.

acceptable.
 They having respectful listening with
delegation in participating.
 In this, members having quality to
handle conflicts comfortably with open
discussions.
 In this, their assignment are clearly
stated and accepted by disagreements.
 Feelings of members are freely
expressed and it is helpful in making
open discussions.
 In this, leadership is shared and shifted
from time to time.
 They are frank by nature, constructive
directing to other individuals towards
removing obstacles.
 Decisions made by this team is usually
consensus and free involvement.
 They are focusing on discussions and
shared by everyone in a team.
 Their working environment is tensed,
stiff and bored.
 The objectives to achieve are unclear.
 In this, individuals working are
judgemental with interrupting
behaviour.
 They are uncomfortable, may not
resolve conflicts and aggressively
dominates to other.
 They are dealing with unclear
assignments.
 Team members feelings are hidden
which are inappropriate for making
discussions.
 The leadership is autocratic and define
by committee chairperson.
 They are embarrassing and producing
tension, which is destructive directly to
the person.
 The decisions made by them are
prematurely and are expected to to go
along with opinions.
 They are leading by lack of focus and
dominated by few members.

From this, an effective team is their in a manner which describes an effective team
members. The group dynamic with focusing on clear objectives to achieve. The responsibility
provided to effective team can make targets with full dedication in their performance. They are
trustable, supportive with mutual understanding with others. The members of AM holdings Ltd.
shared their views and ideas on making decisions for an organisational growth. In this, relevant
team is leading with theories which are relating to the development. Their is a dynamic
cooperation uses for influencing behaviour of team. HR manager of AM holdings Ltd.
Understanding performances of team individuals with a tasks performed by them. The theories
are helpful for developing purpose of a team members and supporting them in cooperation. Their
are different stages for developing team members. Forming, storming, norming and performing
are 4 stages of Tuckman teamwork theory.
Forming: The first and foremost stage of development is defined by high dependency of a
leader. In this, AM holding Ltd. members need guidance and direction. Roles and
responsibilities provided to employees are not clear and defined. It is first meeting of members
with a stage of introducing each other. The persons are in that conditions to make them for
working together as a team. This is an initial stage of growth which is clear about goals achieve
in clear direction regarding project completion.
Storming: The second stage of development defines a position in which members are not willing
to make decisions. HR manager of AM holdings Ltd. enabling process to build focus on growth
and goals. Team main purpose to make focus on goal and avoiding distraction on emotional
issues.
Norming: In this, wide range of decisions are made by teams agreement. Decisions in a team are
made in form where smaller decisions are made by small team and groups. Group of AM
holdings Ltd. are engaged in social activities and fun. They discuss and develop their working
styles and procedure which enables and facilitates leader.
Performing: In this, unit of members are clearly aware about the purpose. They are sharing their
vision with full efforts and dedication without any interruption of a leader. Company AM
holdings Ltd. Members are their in focusing on over achieving of group goals. If disagreements
are made by group are resolved within by members positively.

P4 Concepts and philosophies of organisational behaviour
In this,concepts and philosophies of path and goal theory of leadership describes
understanding basics and powers of leaders. This theory is based on clearing path of group
members in order to accomplish goals and objectives. It helps in clarifying path of subordinates
and increasing rewards of employees. This leadership theory is made to ratify the path of leader
to achieve organisational, personal and educational goals. The follows of a team is in an order to
perform with an approach to accomplish motivational needs. AM holdings Ltd. Using this styles,
is to play a significant role in order to increase motivation by providing focus to employees.
Leaders who are working within organisation has to make departmental goals. The leadership
theory is describe and facilitates in 4 forms.
Directive Leadership: In this, behaviour of a leader is characterised by expected level of
performance, procedures and processes. They should perform their duties by completing their
targets. The leaders of AM holdings Ltd. are their in supervising their employees with motivation
in completion of tasks. Employees are guided in aspects with gaining achievements. An
organisation is dealing on regular basis with subordinates which are inexperienced. Unit provide
proper guidelines along the way. If the role of ambiguity is reduces the reward power to
employees increases day by day. Leader are supposed to direct their followers in an order to tell
them about their task how to perform it by making schedules and coordinating work.
Supportive leadership: This supportive approach is made by leader to their subordinates in
showing concern to them. The frank and friendly behaviour of leader displays concern by needs,
welfare and well- being. They plays lots of attention towards its members. It is a vital path used
by AM holdings Ltd. for employee's in an order to resolve personal problems. This path helps to
employees in enhancing self-esteem and making more interesting job by reducing stress and
boringness. This nature of leader can build friendly approach and well being with their followers.

Participative: In this, leaders are supposed to consult with their team members after making

consulting with their subordinates. They consult with each other in group for resolving problems,

Achievement oriented leadership: In this, leadership style members are their in performing their
task expecting highest level of possibility. This leadership path is helpful for AM holdings Ltd.
for making continuous improvement. Increasing of performances shows confidence in their work
ability. They are working more potentially in different sectors like technical, scientific, sales etc.
Challenging goals of a leader are set by employees in reaching to their peak performances. They
are achieving higher level of goals from employees with having trusting ability. Excellent work
performance is their with constant improvement and intense confidence in their work. The
employees are working with independently and resolution difficulty are suitable for management
styles. In every organisation it is a useful context working with high standards capabilities by
self- improvement.
The concepts and philosophies of leadership theory defines consideration and initial
structure of an organisation. According to path goal theory which is based on stages of
development in leadership quality. In this, directive leadership impact positively on employees
because they are directed by leader by ensuring them about tasks allotted. Due to uncertainty it
occur negative impact on performance of an individual. According to supportive leadership it
consequent positively by having supportive nature and friendly behaviour of leader. It can make
negative impact by having majority of followers in a single team. Full participation of a team
make an impact positively by dealing with their corrective ideas and opinions. Less participation
leads negativity in AM holdings Ltd. For making achievement in an organisation leader sets
many of challenging goals which creates positive in an organisation. When problems occur in
this achievement it impacts negatively.
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned report, it is concluded that organisational behaviour is their to
identify interaction in either individually or in group. This approach is usually applied on
employees who are working in an organisation. There explained behaviour of team and
individuals in culture, politics, power. Their determining many of the motivational theories and
techniques for achievement of goal by effective and ineffective team. AM holding Ltd. company
has deal with situational context by identifying concepts and philosophies of organisation. Their

purpose is to identify working of teams with a context by dealing with behaviour of individuals
and groups.
