Work and safety management system is a set of rules, procedures, and strategies that
systematically manage workplace health and safety and can help to reduce the risk of injury
and sickness as a result of working operations. In context of the Woolworths Group Limited,
which is famous supermarket chain in Australia , manage their working operations and
another workplace related activities with the help of work and safety policies and maintain
systematic Working environment. Work and safety policy is work like a system-based
approach is considerably more efficient than a system that relies solely on paperwork in
protecting individuals from harm and accomplishing safety goals. This is due to the following
features of a workplace safety program . Some specific points are involved in this policy
which are considered by the Woolworths .It evolves and increases with time, using feedback
to manage and improve safety-related consequences, combines with other management
systems, and allows for even more informed decision-making. It also enhances corporate
culture and reveals due diligence(Billi, A. and Tricarico, L., 2018).
2. Internal and external elements
In case of internal element , which Woolworths want to change in their work and safety
policy is corporate culture. As per the opinion of manager of Woolworths , it is determined
that because of effective considerations of the corporate culture, their organization is not
effectively connect with their staff members so they want to change this internal element

because it provides adverse impact on the policy.
In case of external element , Organization want to change in their legal structure and
legislative framework. As per the opinion of the manager, the legal policies and consideration
of the Woolworths organization is very rigid so organizations need to change it in order to
improve the effectiveness of the organization and create effective workplace (Filion, P.,

and external factors like corporate culture and legislative framework. Manager can discuss
the situation and then get all the members responses in order to change the situation
