INTRODUCTION
Management style is defined as a proper style of a leader in organisation for handling and
managing resource and employee. As per this, there are various style which is performed in an
organisation to manage the employee. According to various section of condition which have
accessibility of revealing the situation which create an issue in future. In addition to this, the
leader must tackle these type of situation for the smooth functioning in an organisation. As per
this, the report state about the second largest retail store in UK which is TESCO. The CEO of
TESCO is Dave Lewis, they follow various management style and function for functioning of
firm (Alizadeh and et. al., 2019). As per this, discussion is based in various aspect such as
management style of CEO and culture which is rationalise and adopted by CEO ton enhance the
operation of organisation. This leadership style also help to analyse the employee.
Present issue faced in TESCO: As per the current situation TESCO. Moreover, the issue
which is faced by organisation in which they must focus and concentrate is all about quality of
product and service which is deliver to customer. Organisation must take a step to improve the
quality of product and services. In addition, the Dave Lewis must play an significant role with
their leadership as well as management style to eradicate the issue.

Management style and principle and function of management used by CEO of retail store
Management style: Dave Lewis is focused on various style of management, which have basic
function id to manage the employee and organisation by formulating new strategies and plan in
such a direction and path to control the conflict and raise solution. As per this, the directive
management style or autocratic style which have ability to defined various role and hierarchy
which is based on structure of firm. In addition to this, employee have authority to raise question
on basis of their work and process. In context with TESCO, the organisation facing issue related
with quality. In this, leader play vital role by analysing the issue and from their problem is
initiated and must try to fix it as soon as possible (Bartunek 2020). This approach help
organisation to regain the profit and loyalty of customer in regards with quality of product and
services. As per this, resolving issue enhance the service to customer, respecting of consumer
and provide him excellence service which increase integrity for firm. TESCO have a huge range
and variety of product. There are different management style which is used by CEO of respected

organisation. As per this Dave Lewis has to formulate unity of direction with respect with fifth
principle of Fayol's fourteen management principles which engaging the activity with well
defined aim and objective. In this, the selected firm face issue with their quality of product and
receive the customer dissatisfaction. If this persist for long time then create big fall in
profitability.
Principle of management: The principles of management is play key role in any retail firm
because this formulate innovation. Innovation is a techniques which help organisation to gain
competitive advantage in market.
Function of management: In the context with this, there are basically four function which is
used by CEO of firm. Dave Lewis used this principle in their organisation for managing resource
and employee. The overall managing changes of TESCO is mentioned below:
Planning: As per this, the CEO used to formulate strategies and plan in such a way
which help to clear the vision and objective of organisation. It include apportionment of various
resources and setting up new responsibilities with appropriate manner. The CEO of organisation
must carry this thinking that without changing the aspect of new approach can not be gain more
growth and profit (Chen and et. al., 2020).
Organizing: In this, CEO must get an clarification that work pattern which is going in
organisation is providing better and smooth function in aspect with employee. In context with
this. It must be ensure that the process which is running in firm has well develop to perform the
task by teams and employee.
Leading: Manager of organisation must be confident for their decision during any
situation. In the context with TESCO, firm face various issue regards with quality. Then manager
stop in acceleration of production and motivate employee to focus on quality.
Controlling: As per the view point of TESCO, every function which is ongoing in firm
have their relevant scope and aim. So, as per this CEO must take control over these all for better
functioning.

Division structure: Firm have willing to expand their business on the basis of product and
services in regards with customer. This expansion have a criteria to divide organisation
