INTRODUCTIONOrganisation Behaviour defines the study of how people interact with each other in anorganisation. It is an approach that examine the impact of group, structure and individualbehaviour on business enterprise with an intention of applying knowledge towards enhancingcompany's effectiveness (Ashkanasy and et. al., 2014). There are variety of research models thatare engaged with Organisation Behaviour such as increasing job performance and satisfaction,promoting leadership and motivation that leads to change the way in which performance hasbeen evaluated. The chosen organisation for this assignment is BBC which is British PublicService Broadcaster that deals with broadcasting current news and affair headquartered inLondon. This report covers the culture, power and politics on teams and individual performancethat affect the behaviour of BBC. Along with this, it also covers various motivational theoriesand their impact on increasing the effectiveness of employees productivity in order to achieveoverall organisational goal. TASK 1P1 a) Identify and discuss organisational culture within the organisationHandy’s cultural typology : This theory was given by Charles Handy in 1999. It statesthat organisation are identical to countries, each have specific culture rely on beliefs, expectationand values which is changing with the span of time, thus, business entities are required to growand change the culture in order to gain long term objective. Handy's defines the class of cultureinto four categories which are as follows: Power Culture: Handy describe power culture in the term of spider web, which meansall important persons of a firm sits in the middle or centre. There are few individuals inBBC who holds power and influence other people in the company. BBC employees aregenerally judged by their achievement rather than their performance. According to smithreview BBC power culture enables the firm to make quick decision which help theirpersonnel to work effectively. Role Culture: This culture is emphasize on roles which are controlled by employees ofan organisation. BBC employees are aware about their responsibilities and roles, thatenables them to work constructively (Demir, 2011).
