Answer to Question 1
The purpose of the strategic plans is to set the different goals for the business for the
business along with developing the plan in order to achieve them. Furthermore, the strategic
planning is inclusive of stepping backwards from the day to day operations and trying to
figure out where the business is required to be headed along with the different priorities
which is required to be analysed.
Strategic Planning is necessary in nature as this helps in determining the different
directions for the organization as this mainly focuses on the efforts along with ensuring that
all the employees in the organization are working towards the common goal. The purpose of
the strategic planning is to assist in managing and reducing the different risks in business
(Miller et al., 2018).
The detailed planning helps in reducing the uncertainty along with analysing the
potential risks along with implementing the risk control measures. The effective strategic
planning results in describing the business goals along with the different actions needed to
achieve them. This is basically a three to five-year plan and sets out the different tasks along
with setting of milestones which will drive the business forward (Rothaermel, 2015).
Answer to Question 2
The purpose of the different operational plans is to provide the personnel of the
organization with the clear picture of the different tasks along with responsibilities in line
with the different goals along with the different objectives which is contained in the strategic
plan. This is different from the strategic plan as this is the specific plan for the usage of the
resources of the organization in pursuit of the strategic plan (Shi et al., 2017).
