Bridgestone Corporation is a Japanese multinational company specialized in the
manufacture and sale of truck and auto parts. The organizational culture promoted in the
company is that of diversity and inclusiveness.
Bases of Power
The bases or sources of power used by the leaders at Bridgestone Corporation are that
of reward and expertise (4). The examples of the use of these sources of power can be
identified as the following:
Reward:
a) The leaders focus on cultivating the talent of the employees through reward systems
based on the performance (Bebridgestone.com 2020).
b) The employees are given several benefits such as paid holidays, vacations and flexible
time schedules based on their role in the organization.
Expertise:
a) The leaders focus on creative pioneering by proactively inspiring the employees to
develop their skills and foster teamwork to achieve organizational targets
(Bridgestone.com 2020).
b) The leaders utilize their knowledge and expertise in the industry as well as the skills
of the employees to decide upon a vision of making transformations to propel the
growth of the company (Bridgestone.com 2020).
Influence Tactics
The influence tactics used by the leaders of Bridgestone Corporation include
consultation technique and coalition technique (20). The examples of these techniques as
used by the leaders include the following:
