1ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENTQuestion 1As per the case study, the leadership team of the J&J Furnishing Ltd has become moreconcerned regarding the customer’s perspective over the environmental impact that resultsfrom its manufacturing and shipping process. In order to solve the problem and to achievetheir overall goals, the leadership team has implemented democratic leadership style withinthe organization (Bamiatzi et al., 2015). The democratic leadership style also known asparticipatory style of leadership where different ideas moves freely within the organization.As J&J concerned regarding environmental impact and decided to focus on sustainability toincrease their profit, therefore with the help of democratic style, employees can freelyparticipate in the decision making process and accordingly synthesizing necessaryinformation into best ideas to achieve the overall goals. This leadership style is appropriatefor this particular organization, as for achieving overall goals, organization need to motivatetheir employees and should also provide healthy work environments (Cunningham, Salomone& Wielgus, 2015). This type of leadership style is best suited in the changing environmentsand when the company J&J has planned to implement certain changes, democratic leadershipstyle is appropriate over other styles. Apart from this, this style will also increase employeesloyalty and as a result they will be more focussed to their work.Question 2In order to influence the project team, to achieve the overall goals of the organization,the leadership team has selected the Pareto Analysis as an effective tool. With the help ofPareto Analysis, J&J Furniture Ltd can increase their sales in the market. Pareto Analysishelps in decision making process by analysing the problems that need to be resolved (Berman& Wang, 2017). As per the case study, with the help of Pareto Analysis, it can analyse the

By implementing this tool, the company understood that they need to upgradetheir technologies so that they can able to reduce their lost sales and can create betterefficiencies in the process of supply chain. Accordingly, the company resolved their issuesthat results in increase in the supply chain and also cut down their manufacturing costs. Priorto that with the help of this tool, the Manager analysed the growing environmental problems,and decided to use alternative products that would cause less environmental risk. Paretoanalysis is a simple tool and gives positive outcomes as it helps to identify all the possibleproblems, and accordingly the company introduced some project teams that will deal withvarious different projects such as sales, marketing and legal procedures (Balogun et al.,2014).Question 3As per the case study, the five types of power described in the Shenoy’s web articleincludes legitimate power, reward power, expert power, punishment power and the referentpower. In case of managing the overall goals and objectives the J&J has decided toimplement those powers accordingly.1)In case of influencing the project team, the best type of power will be appropriate isthe legitimate power, where the supervisor or the Management head will guide the projectteam in order to adhere success. Accordingly, with the help of legitimate power, the projectteam will report to the management regarding their duties and job roles (Nosenzo & Sefton,2014). Furthermore, this would also help the company to take any major decision forobtaining success.
