Organizational values
Values of an organization refer to the
core principles and ethics that the
organization abides by. These value
inspire all employees and also
constrains their actions.
Cultural values often refer to collective
assumptions, feelings and perceptions
about things that are rational,
important and good (Bolden, 2016)
Objectives of such organizational
values are focused on accomplishing
the desired outcomes and increasing
the overall productivity.

Nursing values
Five core values of nursing encompass
integrity, human dignity, autonomy,
social justice and altruism (Kitson et al.,
2013)
All these core values are based on the
basic attributes of caring, diversity,
integrity and excellence
A caring culture is imperative in nursing
profession that characterizes
consideration and concern for the
patient, which in turn demonstrates the
commitment towards optimal health
and safety of the patients

Alignment between the two
Alignment between these values help in increasing
patient safety owing to the fact that patient safety
is considered as the cornerstone of superior
quality health care.
Much of the nursing work that defines patient
safety practices work towards preventing patient
harm and also eliminate negative outcomes of
patient care
The values of the organization and nurses help in
providing competent, safe and ethical care
services to all clients
