INTRODUCTION
Reflective learning or approach is defined as the effective form of education that
facilitates an individual to reflect their learning experience in structured manner. It facilitates to
gain live experience as well as help to enhances students critical thinking and take effective
future actions through analyse their experience. Basically, it is the exploration of various
experience that enables human about their specific actions. Reflective learning involves personal
experience, attitudes, beliefs and assumption to explore various learning experiences.
Universities conducts proper orientation programmes that enhance students knowledge and
understanding related to studies and it plays important role in higher education (Capano, Regini
and Turri, 2017). In this report a reflection on Covid-19 impacts on hospitality, travel and
tourism industry are covered. Use of formative feedback and various cultural as well as
behavioural expectation from business and management student is mentioned. Furthermore,
significance of peer-to-peer support and team working in discussed in this project report.
TASK
Reflect and explain the impacts of COVID-19 on the Hospitality, travel and leisure
As a tourism guide, I have analysed that the critical situation of covid-19 impacts on
functionality and performance of hospitality industry, travel and leisure department. As in the
situation on pandemic lock down is imposed by the government in every economy as it the work
wide problem. I have analysed that people are restricted to go outside their housed during
pandemic that negatively impacts on travel and hospitality by reducing industry sales and
profitability ratio (Zakrzewska-Bielawska, 2018). During the situation of Covid-19, government
imposed trade restrictions form other country that affect international business of industry. I have
seen that various national and international flights are cancelled and people are avoiding go
anywhere. Employee lay off and employment are the major problem that is faced by the
hospitality organisation in the situation. According to my point of view, hospitality and travel
industry is being impacted by the pandemic their market share, customer base and profitability
ratio is reduced that affect business profitability ratio as well as its sustainability (Chen and
Kruger, 2017). As a tourism guide, I have analysed that no one is interested to go in hotels,
restaurants and other leisure place because of fear. As per my view, respective industry
formulates various strategies and planning to overcome the impacts of Covid-19 such as

organisations connect with its customers through various social media channels and handle their
quarries properly (Rabourn, BrckaLorenz and Shoup, 2018). To cope-up these impacts,
organisation follow guideline of government and maintain proper hygiene as well as sanitization.
Describe the use of formative feedback to inform and improve summative assessed work
Formative feedback: Formative feedback is defined as the activities that involve
ungraded or low-stakes opportunities for the purpose of measuring and promoting students
knowledge and skills. It facilitates faculty members of University to concentrates of students
learning and enhance their understanding about limits of their knowledge and how to improve
skills for enhancing performance. Formative feedback is the valuable tool that enables instructor
to provide ongoing and immediate feedback to student that improves students learning. It allows
instructor to identify student's misunderstanding and help them in order to correct their mistakes.
It improves student's knowledge, understanding and skills as well as motivates them to enhance
their learning (Daffner-Deming, 2021). As formative feedbacks are the continuous process that
plays important role in improving summative work because feedbacks identifies the area of
improvement and motivates students to improve their assessment work. Regular formative
feedbacks develop the capability is students to monitor, evaluate as well as regulate their own
learning. Some used are mentioned below:
As formative feedback is provided to students throughout the course of business and
management that facilitates to improve understanding and knowledge at the time of
preparing assignment (Dobiyanski, 2017). It helps to students to complete their
summative assignment work with efficiency.
Instructors regularly examines student's work and identify gap between their learning. On
the bases of these gaps provide them feedback that improves overall learning and
facilitates them to perform their assignment work on time with full effectiveness.
Instructors use various approaches of feedback to improve student's understanding and
knowledge that enables them to complete their summative assignment (Siener and
Hohmann, 2019). Instructor regularly monitor student performance and provide them
regular feedback that improve student's learning.

There are various cultural as well as behavioural expectations form the students who are
perusing educational course in business and management. These expectation from the students
that they maintain effective, supportive and friendly culture in class room (Thaver and Thaver,
201). As students come form different cultures, values, backgrounds and traditions who have
different language and understanding level (Dumford and Miller, 2018). So, students who are
perusing business management course maintain effective culture and enhance team working that
improve contribution of all members towards gaining proper learning experience. These skills
facilitates them to manage business culture and lead all members towards attaining common
goals and objectives with efficiency.
There are various behavioural expectations form students who re studying in business and
management course. To manage a business it is expected from students that they have enough
skills of time-management, effective communication, problem-solving and proper decision-
making that facilitates them to perform various functions in well defined manner. It is expected
from the students that they complete their work on time with efficiency and support other
members through sharing ideas, knowledge and understanding with them on related topics
(Moriña, 2017). Team work and leadership qualities that are expected form the students that
help them to handle business operations and activities in best possible manner. Effective
communication is the important aspect that enable students to communicate their ideas and
thoughts to other one as well as listen others perspective carefully (Labaree, 2017). It help them
to perform business activities properly and attain desirable goals and objectives with efficiency
and effectiveness.
Significance of peer-to-peer support and team working to enhance learning experience
Peer-to-peer support: Peer support is defined as the process of providing and receiving
encouragement as well as assistance for the purpose of attain long-term recovery objectives. It
provides emotional support, technological skills, enhance people connection with resources,
provide practical assistance and provide opportunities to attain defined goals and objectives in
specific period of time (Levitan and Rosenstein, 2019). Peer support provides various
knowledge through sharing personal experiences. Peer support plays important role in enhancing
learning experience of students who are perusing business and management course. Students

helps each other in learning procedure that discover knowledge and understanding of students as
well as enhance their skills and learnings. It is related to provide knowledge, emotional, practical
and social help to each other in order to enhance learning experiences. Their are various forms of
peer support such as peer mentoring, reflective listening and counselling (Michael, Morris-Dueer
and Reichert, 2017). It enhance student's knowledge, understanding and capabilities to perform
in well defined manner to attain goals and objectives efficiently.
Team working: Teamwork is defined as the collaborative or combine efforts of a defined
group in order to accomplish defined task and objectives on time in effective and efficient
manner. In team all members are putting their efforts and work efficiently for attaining common
objectives. Members share their ideas, concepts and their knowledge that facilitates other
members to gain understanding that help to improve the level of learning experience. Effective
teamwork is the synergistic manner of working with other members who are committed as well
as working towards attaining shared goals. Teamwork enhance strengths of each team members
and facilitates them to bring desirable outcomes (Mohammadinezhad and Sharifzadeh, 2017). It
enhances various skills in the personality of all team members such as effective communication,
active listening, problem solving and decision-making that help in performing functions with
greater efficiency on defined time period. Team work plays important role to improve members
learning experience. In Universities various activities are conducted in which students are
performed in groups. All group members shared their views, ideas and knowledge with others
that can beneficial for the to attain personal as well as professional goals and objectives with
efficiency.
CONCLUSION
As per above report, it can be concluded that orientation is the aspect that plays important
role in enhancing student's higher education programme. Pandemic of Covid-19 impacts the
performance and functionality of hospitality, travel and leisure industry. Because of spreading
corona virus, government has imposed lock down that directly impacts n profitability ratio of
industry. Formative feedback is the ongoing process that through which instructor provide
instruction to students for improving their working effectiveness and efficiency. Feedbacks
during assignment, facilitates students to improve their summative assignment work to get higher
grades in educations courses. There are various cultural and behavioural expectation for the
students who are studying in business and management course and help to perform in efficient

manner. In Universities various programmes are conducted in which students perform their
activities and functions in group and each member support all members that enhance their overall
learning experiences.
