Introduction
Nowadays in every organization, there are tasks which require the use of computers. In
this modern world, technology is everything. At every step there is some kind of technology
being used; from mobile to computers to big cars. Computers help in data handling, networking
and sharing information and can do a many type of tasks. As the number of task increases,
companies start depending on computers to finish their tasks quickly. Though, as more
computers are installed the number of injuries also increases as a result of computer use. The
purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate an understanding of different risk due to computer
use with the help of memorandums.
Discussion
A computer is a valuable tool which is used in all kind of field. But extended periods of
using a computer can make a person more likely to acquire an injury. Improper use of the
computer can lead to tissue and muscle aches, excessive shoulder, arm, wrist, or hand injury, and
eyestrain. Working on computers for long duration give rise to health and safety concerns that
are directly linked to sitting in front of the displays with possible physical, visual and mental
effects on people. Other than all these there can be several other issues such as a ‘trip and fall’
over a power cord, R.S.I. (Repetitive Strain Injury) and migraines. It is important to form a
concept of ‘duty of care’ for both employees and employers in relation to safe computer usage
which may help in decreasing the injuries occurring unnecessarily due to computers..
