CRITERION 1
Pathophysiology and risk factor of osteoporosis, bone
fracture and bone healing
As a registered nurse it is very essential that proper guidance must be
provided to patient and their family members so that proper
treatment can be provided to Mrs Yvonne Walker. in the present case
of her there are many different types of the issues and factors which
affect the working efficiency and health of her (Starr, Tay and Shane,
2018). Currently she is having displaced femoral shaft fracture. also
she was diagnosed with osteoporosis and is post- menopausal as
well. She also had the open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of
her femur with metal rod and is now preparing for the discharge.
CRITERION 2
Using evidence of information to support decision-making
and responsive practice in health promotion practices
Mrs. Walker who has suffered from displaced femoral shaft fracture
even after her treatment requires attention after her discharge. She
needs help in managing the reaction which her body might have to
the ORIF surgery which generally leads to significant pain after the
procedure. It is going to be very important for her to have a healthy
diet. Due to the increase of the stress which she has been facing from
her recent divorce it is going to be very important for her to get used
to her normal daily life. As this fracture has been in her femur which
is the longest bone in the human body and also a very essential one
which helps us in walking (Yang and Yang, 2019). Therefore, she is
going to need the information of the ways the patient to protect their
leg. Special needs of the patient can be met with the help of
providing instruction of the ways in which she can help take care of
herself, and they would. Protection of the leg from water is a very
important aspect of her treat mean as it can damage they would.
In order to develop faster bone healing process in the patient the key
Pathophysiology
With the help of the above pathophysiology it is clear that for Mrs
Yvonne Walker it is very important that she and her relatives take
proper care. This is because of the reason that when she will not be
taking proper care then this can negatively affect her health. also she
is being diagnosed with the osteoporosis which causes the bone to
become more brittle and weak. thus, the fracture in this case will be
affecting her health to a great extent. Thus, as a registered nurse it is
very essential to explain her relating to these concepts (Cheng and
Shoback, 2019). in case she will not be working on her health then
this can also result in deterioration of her health and might affect the
living capability as well. so with the help of the above flowchart it is
clear that the different risk associated involves the old age as
currently she is 60 and this can affect the working efficiency and
health of her to a great extent. this is because of the reason that when
a person starts growing then this result in the decrease in tendency to
respond to different types of the health issues.
Moreover, another risk factor being associated with her situation is
that she smokes very heavily and this affects the health to a great
extent. The reason underlying this fact is that when she will smoke
more than this will be affecting her lungs and will result in breathing
problem and many different other health related issue. Along with
this another factor was that she had a marriage breakdown as well.
this also affects the mind and mental peace of her and it can result in
increase in stress and anxiety and as a result of this smoking habit of
her will increase. this increase in bad habit will be resulting in more
negative impact over the health of the person and it can demotivate
her to a great extent (Hawkins and et,al., 2021). Along with this she
has also lose some of the weight which is not good. The reason
underlying this fact is that when she is losing wait then this will be
affecting the health of Mrs Yvonne Walker to a great extent. in case
she will be losing wait then this will be affecting the health and
disease capability to a great extent. this is because of the reason that
when she will be losing wait then the capability to face the disease
will also reduce and she will not be position to face the disease and

would be to eat high diet of calcium and vitamins D that would heal
the bone ASAP. These foods would include Spinach, Kale, Okra,
Collards, soybeans, white beans, some fish like sardines, salmon or
perch. These diets might be very useful but for quicker results the
patient can be assisted with the Calcium and Vitamin D tablets which
are specially designed for the purpose of bone healing (Starr, Tay
and Shane, 2018). It is going to be important to keep good touch
with health care provider which would allow in the recognition with
scenarios such as in high fever chilling, severe pain, incision, redness
or swelling. All of these are possibilities that can occur after the
treatment. There are ways in which the impacts of these can be
reduced such as rest and also the types of physical therapy for
restoring the strength and flexibility in the muscles.
Due to the ambulatory patient condition it will be difficult for them
to walk or move by them on their own. Hence, they are going to need
special health care which is specific to the performing daily
activities. It is going to be very important for the patient to adapt to
the walking slowing with help of exercising before occurring during
the walk as an ambulatory conversation. For patient which is not
being able to walk it is essential to provide them with the ambulatory
care which provides setting for department within a hospital or inside
her house. It is important to include the urgent care essentials for the
development of the mental health and also the admitting toward
making is safer for such patient (Cheng and Shoback 2019). There
are ambulatory medical devices which can be used on the patient
assisting them to walk at home. These devices include the canes,
crutches and walkers. The results of the synced to computer for the
analyzation of the data. The gives the doctors have a clear picture of
how the blood pressure needs to be changed or maintained
throughout the day. Essential requirement of this patient would
include the patient seeking more convenient access to healthcare
services. It helps them to avoid extra expenses and save the cost
which they would have to incur otherwise. Providing them with
attempts for the management of population of health is helpful for
the proactively managing the chronic conditions towards the
prevention of serious illness and improve overall population health.
Psychological condition in this scenario is also very poor as the
patient has been suffering from some depression due to divorce. The
patient wants to return to work as they believe that will ease the life
and also increase the earning of before retirement. It is going to be
very important for her focus on other activities such as the writing or
reading books and journals.Doing some exercises which are planned
for her development of the bones. For her focusing on her diet is
going to be very important as it will allow her to provide the body
with the essential needs. In such a scenario the pampering yourself is
also going to be the very essential for her to be comfortable with all
her actions. Socialization is also way of distracting her from the
ongoing problems she is facing, for socialization friends and family
would be very useful responsible for her to accept her pain and get
used to it from both the mental and physical aspect. It is going to
allow her to gain mental fitness which is a very good way of
increasing metabolism in the body.
will not be able to recover easily..
CRITERION 3
Social justice variable to be included within the study
For the effective evaluation of the case of Mrs Yvonne Walker it is
very necessary to consider the social justice variable. These social
justice variable involves the variables like the gender, age and others.
all these variables affect the working and health of the person. this is
because of the reason that in case the patient is young then they have
more capacity to face the pain and diseases as compared to an old
patient. also this can be defined on the basis of the gender as well.
this is because of the reason that it is assumed that the males have
more capability and efficiency as compared to females (Hawkins and
et.al., 2021). This is particularly because of the reason that it is
assumed that males are much stronger as compared to the females
and they can bear the pain and stress in better manner. But in this
present case of Mrs. Yvonne Walker she is female but then also very
patiently handled all the diseases and tried to work in better and
effective manner and overcome the effects of the high diseases. also
many a times she was not able to deal with the situation. The Social
Justice principle applicable in the present case involves equity
diversity participation and human rights. All these principles are
applicable for providing proper health care services to the patient and
to improve their disease.

CIRTERION 4
Code of ethics
While dealing in the personal care and treatment it is very
essential that all the code of ethics is very important to be
followed. this is because of the reason that when the nurses
and practitioner will not be following and complying with the
code of ethics then this will be negatively affecting the
working and treatment of the patient. the reason underlying
this fact is that in case any of the working will result in
negative manner then this will be affecting the working and
treatment of the patient (Barnsley and et.al., 2021). Thus, for
this it is very necessary that both patient and registered nurses
and practitioner must follow and comply with all the ethics
and code of conduct relating to proper working. This is
necessary as when all the working will be completed with
respect to the codes of conduct then this will be resulting in
better treatment and better working condition to the patient.
in case proper guidance and facility will be provided in better
manner then this will be helping the patient to revive and
regain in better terms in accordance to the ethical working
and code of practices. The code of ethics applicable to the
nurses and practitioner to be followed in case of fracture
involves justice. The justice involves providing the treatment
to the patients on equitable and justifiable manner. Along
with this another code of ethics need to be followed by the
nurses and Healthcare practitioner involves beneficence. This
ethic involves promoting the Welfare of the others and to
inherent the relationship of the health care provider and the
recipient of the care. This is necessary because in case the
relation between the doctor and patient will not be good then
it will be affecting the working and health of the patient.
medical in order to heal quickly and also get back to the daily life
and most importantly to get back to work on time. This is very
important for this patient as she has been very depressed due divorce
which she has been through (AlRowis and et.al.,2022). As per the
understanding of the of the learning of the ways in which the patient
would be able to take care of herself for her fast recovery which is
going to be possible. It can be done with the help of increasing the
diet of calcium and vitamin D intake for the development of their
personal health. Utilization of physical therapy would also be very
effective in order to develop the importance of the learning
objectives. Development of this understanding the ways in which
they can improve the health of the individual.
