INTRODUCTION
Main objective of this essay is to better understand the concept of federalism. It is
particularly a form of political system in which the national and regional-level government will
share their authorities for formulating an effective laws (Aroney, 2018). Other than this there is a
concept of capitalized Federation which helps in describing a process resulting in the creation of
Australia at the drawn of the last century. The term federalism is the synonym of association. It
is also known as federal state. In it the total power is divided between the central and local
government. In other words it is a kind of government which divide the whole power between
the central and in various constituent region. Main motive for this is to provide some part of
control to each region. The government found in federation is considered as federalist. Austria
and its lander was a unitary state with administrative division which became federated through
the implementation of the Austrian constitution following the 1918 collapse of Austria Hungary.
This essay discuss the concept of federalism and its strength and weakness and other than this it
includes various way in which it will contribute to tensions between state and common wealth
government.

It refers to a government system in which the same area is controlled by various
government parties such as central, state and local government. (Béland and Lecours, 2018).
Basically the national government will resolve the issues at a boarder level and state and local
government are established in a society and solve the problems of local community. According
to it the central government and the various sub-divided forms of government will help the
power to formulate or implement laws. Both have a certain level of autonomy from each other. It
is a kind of government in which the whole power is equally divided between the central, state
and local government. In other words it is a prescriptive political theory which contrasts with a
unitary government, in this the central authority will hold the power and confederation. In the
20th century the concept of this type of government in a country will more increase considerable
through legislation and court decision (Benz and Sonnicksen, 2018). There are different concepts
