Common Challenges and barriers to
effective communication
The most common barrier to effective
communication that most of employees of
Brit-tech faces at their workplace are as
follows:
Physical barrier: The employees of
Brit-tech that uses public transport to reach
office have physical barrier which are
unavoidable during this uncertain pandemic
period. The physical barrier has forced the
employees to not to return to office.
Perceptual barrier: Most of the
employees have been vaccinated but there
are many more employees of Brit-tech
which does not get vaccination. The impact
of which the vaccinated employees feel
unsafe to come to office as they need to
interact with the non-vaccinated employees
while the non-vaccinated employees does
not want to come to office because of
discrimination at workplace (Manojlovich
and et.al., 2019).
Interpersonal barrier: The poor self-
esteem of the employees creates
interpersonal barrier to effective
communication at workplace. The
employees of Brit-tech feel that they have
lose their interpersonal skill and unable to
interact with the colleagues at workplace
after lock-down thus they do not want to
come office.
Organizational structure barrier:
This is another barrier which state that
employees does not want to come office
because they feel them social distancing and
sanitization measures. The lack of
ventilation is also creating organizational
structure barrier (Kapur, 2018).
Emotional barrier: Lastly, the
workforce of Brit-tech thinks that their
productivity of work at home is high and if
they will go to office their productivity will
reduce. It means they can’t manage their
work from office.
Effective strategies for overcoming
communication barriers
Communicate personally: In order
to overcome physical barrier, Brit-tech

company will communicate personally with
all employees and identify whether they
have their own vehicle or not. If the
employees do not have own vehicle than
company will allow them extended work
from home and if employees have vehicle
than they have to come to office.
Seek Clarity: In order to overcome
perceptual barrier, the company will build
sense of clarity among employees. For this,
company will arrange vaccination dose set
up to get vaccination to non-vaccinated
employees (Sutherland and et.al., 2019).
Also, the company will not force non-
vaccinated employees to come to office until
they get vaccination.
Implementing regular feedback
channel: In order to build interpersonal skill
between the senior and junior, Brit-tech
company will conduct regular feedback
session. Along with this, in order to build
interaction among colleagues the company
will organize formal & informal get-together
at workplace.
Social distancing measures: The
company will follow all the measures of
social distancing and will also place hand
sanitization at every desk along with all over
the office in order to keep their employees
safe and secure (Dinh and Nguyen, 2020).
For company, their employee’s safety is
more important than anything else so the
company will never compromise with it.
Training and development program: In
order to overcome emotional barrier and
manage the productivity of Brit-tech
employees at the workplace, the company
will provide training program to its
employees. They will help them in getting
their morale again to work from office
which they have lose during the lock-down.
