AI Summary
This assignment focuses on designing and configuring a network using NetSim software. Students are tasked with setting up switches and routers, configuring IP addresses, establishing VLANs, implementing VTP (VLAN Trunking Protocol), and configuring static routing. The assignment also includes troubleshooting steps and an analysis of the designed network, highlighting its applicability in real-world scenarios like school or office networks.

Troubleshooting steps
During the configuration of then network the main problem was faced by assigning the
default gateway address to the PC connected with the switch. After researching on the internet
the command was found “IPCONFIG / DG gatewayaddress” for the configuration of the
gateway of the PC. For pinging all the interface of the router the routers are configured with the
static routing and the configuration was rechecked multiple timed for finding any error in the
configuration command and configuring it according to the scenario provided in the assignment.
Analysis of the current network
The network is designed in Boson Netsim and for the development of the network
solution CISCO 2811 Series router is chosen. The fast Ethernet 0/0 and fast Ethernet 0/1 is
connected with Switch 1 and Switch 2 for the development of the network. The serial S 0/0 is
connected with the serial 0/0 of the second router installed in the network. The router three is
installed in the network and the serial S0/0 is connected with the serial S0/1 interface of the
second router. The fast Ethernet 0/0 is connected with Switch 3 and the fast Ethernet 0/1 is
connected with the Switch 4. The network devices installed in the network is configured
according to the requirement of the assignment and a VLAN is created for connecting the PCs
with the VLAN. For testing the router the router interfaces are pinged for testing the
configuration of the router. For the analysis of the network design a prototype of the network is
created and the functionality is tested. The switch installed in the network is configured with
VTP domain and all the ports are allowed for communicating with each other. The created
network design can be applied in a school or office network for communicating with the
different branches of the organization.

OVERVIEW OF INTERNETWORKING
The main requirement of the network is to connect four PC, three routers and four
switches and Netsim is used for creation of the design. The devices used for the design are
configured with the student name and the CLOCK of the device are set to the given time for
matching the requirement of the scenario. Each of the interfaces used for connecting the device
are assigned with an IP address for enabling communication between the other devices installed
in the network. The created network design meets the requirement and can be applied in any real
life network scenario for connecting different departments and enabling communication between
the departments.
