Part A
Introduction
An IoT design is created for a smart office with different office space equipment and IoT
devices for the representation of an intelligent ecosystem. The network is developed such that
multiple connected devices are used for monitoring, controlling and management of different
operations. The integration of smart IoT devices in the smart office can save energy by adjusting
the heating and lighting condition in the office and thus cut the wastage of power and use
resource efficiently. It can also improve the efficiency of business operations by automating the
routine task and allowing the employees working in the office to focus on the important tasks.
The integration of the IoT can also help in increasing the comfort in working environment since
the users would have direct access and control over the devices and can control the devices using
smartphone (Flifel, 2019). The office condition can be tailored according to the preference of the
employees and as a result of better comfort their productivity can be improved. The safety of the
workplace can also be improved with the use of security cameras, sensors and access control
system. It can also help in increasing the transparency and decrease the criminal activity and
minor incident for the employee.
Network design
The network design of the smart office is created after analyzing the total cost of
ownership and different concern of data privacy. The dependency on the steady power supply
and Wi-Fi connection is analyzed for placement of the IoT devices and improve the workplace
environment condition. Despite of the growth and potential of the application of IoT in smart

office in the early development of the smart office network it is can be used for different filed
such as inventory management, health and fitness, retail and automation of home (Badshah et al.
2019). There are different security solution that can be developed such as smart lock, security
camera and different sensors that are important to be applied in office. The use of IoT in smart
office also increases the efficiency in the business since it can help in automating the smart
lighting and help in tailoring the color and light intensity. As the sensors finds that there is no
one present in the room the lights automatically gets turned off and it saves lots of power. The
IoT devices can also be used for the development of energy management system, thermostats can
be used for controlling the climate of the smart office and create an optimal room temperature
and keep everybody at a comfortable working condition (Sihombing et al. 2018). The
communication and collaboration of the IoT devices can help in increasing multiple opportunity
and simplification of different task such as management of occupancy. It can also help in
creating smart scheduling system for management of meetings and management of space and
coordination.

Network Configuration
The network configuration of the IoT is done using packet tracer with the interaction of
the people and workspace and leveraging data for example speed, location, temperature and
application for delivering a meaningful experience. A smart workplace is created with the use of
IoT enabled devices for the adaption of the needs for the user (Manaligod et al. 2019). A
wireless router is used as an access point and the wireless interface present in the IoT device is
used for connecting the device with the access point and enabling communication of data. Smart
device such as ceiling fan, lamp, door lock, motion detector, web cam, smoke detector, fire
sprinkler, window, carbon dioxide detector and anemometer is used for the configuration of the
network.

Configuration of Registration Server
For the configuration of the registration server the IoT services is enabled on the server and a
new is created on the server with username “admin” and password “12345” for enabling the IoT
devices to be managed from the server.

In the next step the wireless access point is configured and connected with the cable modem such
that it is able to transmit data with the ISP. The SSID of the router is set as “OfficeNetwork” and
for increasing the security the Authentication is set as WPA2PSK and encryption type as AES. A
pass phrase is set for authentication and secure the wireless network.
