INTRODUCTION
Packet tracer is defined as the cross platform which has the visual simulation tool that is
designed by the Cisco systems which permits users to create the network topologies and
collaborate it with the modern computer networks. This is a software where users simulate the
Cisco routers configuration and the switches which are used to simulate the command line
interface (Rashid, bin Othman, bin Johan and Sidek, 2019). The current article is based on how
to set up and use the packet tracer.
MAIN BODY
There are several stages to set up and use the packet tracer. Downloading is the first stage where
the download of the packet tracer software is performed and then opening the folder containing
the downloaded file in the computer system. Another stage is to double click on the downloaded
file which will open the installer file in the software centre. Software centre is defined as the
default program of the operating system which helps in the software installation from which the
removal of the software can also be done. In some of the cases the operating system opens the
file in the archive managers rather than the software centre. If the file which is downloaded
opens in the archive manager then it is important to close the archive manager and write click on
the download file in order to click on the open with another application option and then choose
the software install option. The software centre has ability to read the package information from
the installer file which is where the data and this is the information which includes the licence
type and version along with the file size and the nature of application (Almalki, 2020). Another
stage is when twins click on the installed button in order to start the installation. There are
several software Management related risks which highly require the authentication and this is the
feature which safeguards the system from unauthorized modifications. In order to authenticate
the installation process it is important to type the password and click on the authenticated button
as the time of installation process when it displays the authentication box. After the successful
authentication it is important to start the installation process which displace the real time
progress of the process of installation. After completion of the installation process without any
error, the software centre displays the message which indicates that the packet tracer has been
installed in a successful manner. If any error occurs in the installation process then it is important
for the user to install the packet tracer again with other methods and it displays the general

message which indicates the failure of the installation process. troubleshooting installation is also
essential which is done by opening the folder which contains the installation file and writing
click on the folders in order to open the open in terminal option. On the terminal command type
the password at the time of authenticating the installation and then press the enter key in all to
accept the licence. It is important for the user to accept the terms of the end user agreement for
the processes (Hossain and Zannat, 2019).
CONCLUSION
It is concluded that packet tracer software is important to use for designing the modern style
networking having strong security for the organisations. This is because it helps in simulating the
essential networking devices which are tested from the CCNA exam. Therefore it is important to
examine the setting up and the using of the packet tracer in the computer system. hence the
above discussion covers all such areas and also better understand the concept of packet tracer.
