INTRODUCTION
In modern era, there is a need of proper and systematic communication skills which help
in making ideas and concepts exchanges and build a authentic background to make proper
decision (Chen, Yao and Yang, 2016). In this project, importance of communication skills that
are learned at academic university are discussed which further support to improve overall
performance.

Description of events
I from childhood wants to be a part of school and university which would help me out to
develop different type of skills that will increase my overall performance. But the main problem
I was facing was the lack of sufficient financial resources which makes harder for me to get the
best place school in the city. However I was good at my studies which give a chance to study in
top university of UK as a part of management course. In early days I was not confident about my
presentation and communication skills and I hesitate while talking to other. My dream was to get
manager Job in Hotel or want to open a restaurant of My own. Therefore, I needs to develop
different skills which will support me to get the desired goal of life.
Selected aspect of experience
Communication skills are really the capacities that is use to give and receive various
types of information such as project with new ideas, emotions or perhaps an update. It mainly
includes the concept of learning, speaking, empathising and observing that is beneficial to
recognise the variations in how to make a valid communication either face to face of through
help of digital platform. As suggested in the case study, while studying in the university there are
number of communication skills that are learner by an individual that support to build a effective
personality (Mahalakshmi, Selvi and Sendhilkumar, 2018). That directly support to make concise
decision in order to attain the future goals and objective of life. In university it has been observed
that reading, writing and carefully listening are the main skills that every student requires to have
in order to gain the proper knowledge and understand the topic.
Analysis of Event

To make sure that an I am listening clearly teacher use to reflect back so that they can
clarify from student what they have learned. This help to develop the skills of reacting and
summarising of information provided by other which further support listener to deliver the
message to other person. This skill would be beneficial in future also as many time there can be
situation when listener have to deliver a clear understanding to team member (Zhao, Sun and Jin,
2015).
Learning
From the analysis I learn different aspect which will improve my ability and provide
strength to complete different task on allotted time. Some of these are discussed below:
 Listening each thing properly: It is very important me as a listener to be active
whenever teacher is making any announcement or delivering a message. To a an active
listener I am required to be clear about topic and make rough detail so that any
information not gets mixed or missed. This ability will be beneficial in future also
because unless and until an individual is not a good listener is not able to deliver the
message to other. Frequently ask question to make topic clear: This is also consider to be an important
communication ability of asking frequently question to teacher. This state that I have to
actively involved throughout whole conversation and have some issues regarding the
concepts or information. To ask any question I am supposed to be specific regarding the
entire information on certain topic because listener must have some other ideas and
beliefs regarding the same topic (Ostrowski, 2015).
Proposed action:
 To Be empathic regarding work: This is consider to be the most crucial ability of an
individual to share and understand the feeling of another in a respective workplace or
collage. I was grouped together to complete a certain work which help in developing the
empathic skills in me. This will develop a systematic support between each me and team
member so that if any person is facing problem to compete work proper solution we can
in suggest him best possible ways. To be present always at the time of lecture: This is related to many skills mention
above, as an individual is needed to be being present when communicating with other. In
case if I am absent form any of the classes that I will miss the important message. This

simply means non constant presence of one can impact the overall performance because
the main idea or important message get missed (Zhao, Sun and Jin, 2015).
New learning;
From the overall analysis it has been determined that there are number of new learning
which help me out to increase my communication skills and overall increase my performance.
Some of the basic effective communication capability are discussed below:
 I started providing feedback: This is one of the most crucial skill that is related with
giving or receiving feedback that help to make new and developed ways to resolve or
greet any situation. In university, student use to ask for specific feedback on the learning
formate which would help them more deeply understand a topic. Teacher also use to give
essential feedback on the type of work completed by student and give necessary
modification to get higher grades in future assignments.
 I Develop Trust among team member: This communication skill is related with being
providing equal and valuable time and confident to other so that they I feel comfortable
and make conversation without any hesitation. Teacher at university use to build a trust
network with student in order to make effective communication and reducing the chance
of misunderstanding. This skill is useful at any level because an individual if able to build
trust with other can reach to any target or objective without facing major issues.
2. Reflect on their individual performance.
As mention in the case study, the main future objective to be the owner and manager of
self business. In present time, communication skills within business practices are consider to be
the most significant part that support to reach the desired future goals. The above mention skills
that are learned when part of university is helpful in developing a effective business and
accomplishing the main target of life. The different skills taught help in different ways such as
active listing would help to listen worker and customer and work accordantly that is to improve
the employment services or develop product and services as per customer demand. Developing
trust skills would help to maintain a systematic trust network with customer by providing them
regular updates about new offers and services. With the help of providing feedback
communication skill, valuable and timely feedback are given to staff member suggesting to
improve the manner of doing allotted task that will improve the overall performance of business.

Asking question skill help to remove the disparities and issues among employees and make
proper plans that help to deliver best product and services to customer in specific time.
CONCLUSION
Thus, it is stated that with the help of different communication skills an individual is able
to gain proper and sound knowledge about specific topic. It help in delivering the important
message to other so that goals cane be attained and overall performance can be improved.
