1PART 3- COMMUNITY VISIT REPORT Overview of the activities As mentioned in the previous parts of the work the organization is Brampton West MississaugaEarlyyear’scenter.ItunderthemuchlargerChildDevelopmentResource Connection Peel or CDRCP. The programs of the organization are focused towards helping children of 6 years or below in need. The organization offers free programs that are focused on promotion of interactions between caregivers and the children that are aged six years or lower. Another significant part of the program is to ensure that the children get a fun place where their various social, developmental and emotional needs and requirements can be met through exiting means such as playing, exploring or reading. The programs also aim to address the individual needs of the children that may be unique in some cases. The programs also provided a good placeforinteractionsbetweenvariousfamilies.Additionally,throughtheprogramsthe participantswereprovidedguidanceonparentingalongwithinformationaboutchild development and resources. 3PART 3- COMMUNITY VISIT REPORT The website of early on center promotes the mission and vision of the organization for enhancing community engagement. The mission is to engage, create connections and empower the local community. The PEP start clinic provides free programs, creates a developmental platform and forms a play led environment for supporting the requirements of children. Toddler, pre-school, behavior and parenting and language and speech are some essential areas of development. The free programs that are offered by the organization have been effective in making it a popular organization in the given area and also in the province.The organization focuses on reaching all communities that form part of the given area. The organization have been working effectively for around 25 years along with its parent organization CDRCP (CDRCP, 2019). The goal of the organization have been the development of quality family lives. The most importantfunctionalitiesoftheorganizationarebasedonbeinginclusive,accessible, knowledgeable and engaging. Community engagement and interaction in the Peel and adjacent regions of Ontario. The president of the organization is Kathy Wallace and the executive director is Sara Ammar. Some of the most successful programs have been learning in the neighborhood or LION, Pep-start and Early on.

For example- the organization utilizes the expertise of the volunteers to enhance the productive functioning of the organization.Many of the volunteershave backgroundsin psychology, management, childcare that are utilized towards improving the services that are provided. Some of the funding organizations like PLASP Child Care services and the Retired teachers of Ontario provide essential assistance apart from financial support to provide effective support to the work that the organization does. The knowledge and expertise of the stakeholders are utilized towards creating better strategies.

These are the main people that help in developing effective engagement with the target populations. The work of the volunteers are divided in accordance with the kind of job roles that are required to do for the organization. They are divided in accordance with the support that they provide. The role of the volunteers also change in accordance with the programs that are held year round. Early childhood education and early childhood assistance are some of the major roles that the volunteers have to play in the organization (Volunteering, 2019). The second most important stakeholders are the funding organizations. Some of the most important are Sir Joseph Flavelle Foundation, The Mikey Network and PLASP Childcare services. In order to run the year round programs the organization requires essential funding. These stakeholders provide the necessary financial backing to help the organization grow and develop. The funding helps to create better programs and serve more people in the community. The third important stakeholder are the community. The community helps in serving the people better. The role of the community here is to increase the interactions of the organization with the underprivileged families. The local community provides the people that are required to be served. Many local community members also volunteer in the work of the organization. Additionally, the local community provides the required support that is needed to make the programs more effective. Community participation have increased causing the organization to function well. Community capacity Building Community interactions and promotion are central to community capacity building. For this function the organization relies on various forms of media including their online website. Community capacity building refers to the promotion of the local communities’ capacity for development. This includes building of skills, competencies, abilities, resource and processes

There are four essential values that the organization focuses while participating in the capacity building exercise. These values are partnerships, evidence based innovation, inclusion and integrity. The organization believes in empowering the members of the community. The organization provides free resources and assistance to the local families through which they can effectively run their families. Families are also provided essential assistance in regards to how they can develop and nurture their children (Britto et al., 2017). Some of the most important factors that are emphasized through the community capacity developmentareengagementofthestakeholders,assessthecapacityrequirements, implementation of response and evaluation of development (Delgado Serrano et al., 2016). The principles of community capacity building focus on understanding community needs. They focus on either bottom up or grassroots practice. They have a strength based approach, an inclusive practice, investment in community capacity and a sustainability aim. It is important to note that these same are used by the Early on center towards effective community capacity building.The Early on center focuses on understanding community needs of the locality. It runs development programs for families based on their specific needs as per the locality. The Early on center in accordance with grassroots practice helps in the development of children below 6 years. Through providing childcare and family oriented assistance to the local underprivileged communities, the organization focuses on strengthening the position of the community members. Early on has significantly focused its developmental plans on the standards of reaching out to the needs of the community with a grassroots program (CDRCP, 2019).
