The USA Patriot Act 2001 brought extensive changes in the surveillance of terrorist activities aimed at the United States of America. The Act has three major provisions that facilitate anti-terrorism and counter-terrorism activities. The provisions include enhanced surveillance procedures for law enforcement, roving surveillance, and access to business and other tangible records. The JFK Airport Terror Plot of June 2007 was foiled by undercover agents, and the suspects were identified and arrested. The plot was designed to blow up the jet fuel supply system of the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
