Payroll Management System
Abstract
“Payroll Management System” Project will be designed to help HR of the
company to manage all the employee payment details and manage the
employee tax payment details. The system is designed on basis of
business. The project will help to reduce the efforts to calculate wages,
taxes, and salary. It will help to save the time of HR and also help to
manage all the details very efficiently.
The main aim of the project is to design a system which will calculate all
the wages, tax and salary of an employee taking minimum time and less
effort.
Introduction
The payroll system is dependent on the size of business. It is effective in
small size business. A small businessman can use the system which will
reduce efforts and time to manage details of employee. Proper
authentication is required in payroll system (Hughley C.W. 2016, p. 977-
981).
Motivation
To help the small businessman I get motivated to design a payroll system
which will help to manage employee wages, taxes, and salary details. The
payroll system also helps to reduce efforts to manage details.
System structures
Hardware requirements for the system:
Harddisk: 80 GB RAM: 512 Mb or more, Processor: Intel i3 5 generation.
Software requirements for the system:
Web Server: phpMyAdmin server, Database: XAMPP server.
Language used: Advanced Java (Java Swing) and for front-end NetBeans

Functions
a. The system helps to manage employee wages, tax, and salary details.
b. Easily add and remove employee details in the system (Cates S.V.
2015, p.1-5).
User requirements
The only user requirement for the “Payroll management system” is the
operating system. It can be Windows 7, Windows XP or Windows 8.

Additional features
a. In the system, users can login as an employee or as an HR.
b. The details can be modified very easily without taking many efforts.
Inherent complexities and challenges
To manage all the employee details and to design user-friendly GUI for
“Payroll management system” application and to establish java database
connectivity are the challenges.

Conclusion
In this application, there is only one critical area that to reduce the effort
for calculating the wages and tax details of employee. The application will
have an interactive GUI having various options to manage the details
efficiently. Database connectivity will be established for the system and
also there will be a backup for the application and database.
