Assessment Overview
These assessment tasks will assess the student’s skills and knowledge required to manage
project scope. The Assessment is divided into three (3) Assessment Tasks to assess the
student’s ability to understand the theoretical and then practical skills in managing a
project’s scope.
General Instructions
You are required to answer all questions within each Assessment Task and be
assessed as “Satisfactory” in each to gain competency BSBPMG530 Manage project
scope
Submit the completed Assessment Tasks to your Trainer & Assessor through
MOODLE.
There are three assessment tasks for this unit:

Task A – Questioning
Task 2 ‒ Practical: Project
Task 3 ‒ Written
Before you commence your Assessment, ensure that you have good knowledge
of the subject, have thoroughly read your Learner Resource, and clearly
understand the Assessment requirements and the expectations of the Assessor.
You may be required to demonstrate knowledge and skills which Assessor may
need to observe. If so, an Observation sheet is supplied which will allow the
knowledge or skill to be verified by your Assessor.
Explanations are given for each Task. If you have any questions, consult with
your Assessor. The assessment tasks may be answered using your business, the
simulated business or a mixture of both as instructed by your Assessor.

You are required to respond to a series of short-answer questions to gain the knowledge
to implement and manage a project’s scope. Refer to your learning resources to inform
your answers.

2. Explain why these factors could impact the scope of the project.
There is need of having sufficient funds which will help in managing the work or
project effectively.
Q2:
Outline how work outcomes and progress could be measured.
The outcomes of work will help to manage all project activities properly.
Q3:
a) Describe how the work breakdown structure (WBS) could be segmented and
documented.
WBS is used for managing different project activities.
b) What would be the benefit of segmenting and documenting WBS?

It is easy to manage all project activities and monitor them effectively for proper
management by using WBS.
Q4:
a) Explain what formal change-control processes are.
All board members are informed about change needed in the organisation for proper
