INTRODUCTION Person-centred approach is the practice of making the services as per the need anddemand of specific customer (Person centred approach, 2016). In today's healthcare world,given concept is gaining greater importance. Hence, many healthcare organisations are adoptingrespective practices with an aim to deliver high quality services to their respective buyers. Thisreport will depict the importance of person-centred approach in adult healthcare setting.4.1 Explaining principles of active participation Active participation is being defined as way of working wherein patient who is receivingservices from the healthcare firm will take active participation in his own care. Hence, in thegiven type of concept individual will become active partner in their own support and care. Thisdefinition depicts about two different principles of active participation and these are as right ofindividual and independence (Chaisinanunkul and et.al., 2015). First principle is of right ofindividual which entail that patient have full right to make the decision about his/her own case. Itis an effective approach as it gives opportunity to adult patients with regard to take all theinformation about the treatment which they are undergoing. Likewise, independence is anotherprinciple of active participation. This principle gives choice to adult patients regarding the typeof treatment which they want to carry out. For example, if patients is demands for ayurvedatreatment (To cure disease through natural herbs) for their disease then presence of suchprinciple will tend to create binding in healthcare firm. As a result of it, corporation will have tofulfil given demand of patients. 4.2 Addressing holistic need of individual through active participation Holistic needs covers all the features of person's well being (Holistic need, 2016). Hence,in the given need patients discusses about their emotional, physical and social need with theirdoctor. However, active participation is the approach which gives opportunity to adult patientswith regard to make all the decision about their treatment. In this regard, it can be said that activeparticipation have significant importance in the task to address the holistic need of adult patient.For example, by using active participation approach, health care individual can get thorough orholistic information about its patients (Endsley, 2016). One of the waycould be discussing and encouraging the respective individual. Herein, efforts can be made byhealthcare personnel with respect to explain the benefit of active participation approach to adultpeople (Brooker and Latham, 2015). However, through discussion healthcare individual canresolve all the doubts of their patients regarding the respective approach. Hence, it is bycomplying with given type of activity only respective concept can be implemented in healthcaresetting. Encouraging patients peer group members for respective activity can also be consider asanother way. Hence, this thing will help in making effective implementationof active participation approach in an effectual manner. 4.4 Ways to promote understanding and use of active participationIt is very necessary for the healthcare firm that it should give information aboutrespective approach to adult patients who are completely unaware about the given type ofprinciple. Thus, in this regard one of the way for promoting understanding regarding activeparticipation could be giving responsibility of communicating about given principle to healthcareworkers (Mearns, Thorne and McLeod, 2013).
