Understanding the graduate labour market of the UK is an occupational approach because what skills required,
on where the skills of the graduate can be implemented, the potential they possessed and many such factors that
define the UK market. To understand the general market place of the UK survey can be conducted or data can
be collected from various sources. The collection of data and survey helps in understanding the general market
place. A market is a place where one can seek for various opportunities. Every marketing manager must be
known about its market place.
Without knowing the market place is like a person standing in the mid of the sea. Analysis of the marketplace
also raises marketing manager’s standards (Blythe and Martin, 2019). In my opinion, the general market place
is a market where a number of opportunities are maximum as compared to the other. Being a job profile for a
marketing manager is a good opportunity in the UK. Mainly when it comes to the marketing manager of the UK
knowing the segmentation helped out in pointing to specific areas. The market of the UK is best in the grocery
sector; there are firm and company in the UK that runs in its core and at the international level.
Being a marketing manager requires specific qualifications in business administration. The grocery sector is an
emerging and fast-growing sector in the UK. People of the UK demand change every time. Being a marketing
manager can promote my product, services and let the people know about the lasts products in grocery and its
use. There are numerous industries in the UK that deals with grocery (Quinton and Fennemore, 2013). Like
Tesco, Aldi, Sainsbury and many such, but among all Tesco is the largest supermarket chain in the UK. Apart
from the UK Tesco has stored in 12 countries. The company running at a global level indicating that the role of
the marketing manager is very crucial and highlighted. Only a marketing manager boosts the company and
enhances its results. The delicate role of the marketing manager may shape the company or deform the
company by their workings skills. That why such effective skills are required in a company like Tesco.
In my view, being a marketing manager of Tesco is all one can want. In such a big company where the job
profile of a marketing manager is much repeated (Quesenberry and Trauth, 2012). The major role is of
marketing manager in such companies. One can never think of that grocery products and demands of people
change at a rapid speed. I analyze the current market situation of my choice and then turn towards the Tesco.
Tesco is known for its largest retailing chain’s marketing staff to play a vital role in its help in attaining the
customers and combine them for buying products from Tesco.
Marketing manager helps out in letting know the current opposition of the company in the market current trends
of the market in which the company can survive. All in all, the marketing manager described the price
description at which price can earn the profit. They also decide that at which price product must be sold that
remain low form rivals and earn the profit. Customer satisfaction is achieved because of the marketing manager.
Product processing and launching in the market is analyzed by the marketing manager.
A marketing manager is the backbone of the company without him company cannot stand properly and can
hold its lieu among rivals. As mentioned above that the market of the UK is very vast, it requires a highly
skilled person that can enter into the market and hold the lieu of the company among rivals. One must possess
all the traits that demand by the condition. There are no certain conditions will remain the same all the time,
most of the time uncertainties occur. In that condition, skills and traits of marketing manager work. Every

marketing manager has certain skills but according to the conditions and circumstances which skills should be
implemented is the identification of the marketing manager (Orlich et.al, 2012).
A marketing manager is also a self-learning process especially when it comes to the UK.
Channels of distribution are a very vital process, as it implicates the services of the product of the company. At
what rate and what measure the product or service will reach to the customer is the role of a marketing
manager. Tesco has a very wide channel of distribution. The success point of Tesco is the fast delivery of
products to its customers (Yu et.al, 2014). Next target, the company's vision, and the market plan are set to be
the marketing manager seeing the future outcomes. In my opinion, being a marketing manager of Tesco shape
my career and enhances my growth in the future. It will also help out in learning new experiences and
generating new opportunities (Muñiz Jr et.al, 2014)). Also, it raises the standard of learning and execution.
There are a number of responsibilities performed by the marketing manager; this shows that a planning career
in this field adds starts to my life (Mankiw, 2014). Every practice and step must not harm society, so CSR is
also taken care of by the marketing manager. While promoting products or service no such activity should be
done that harm the interest of the people, their interaction and another thing. Environment factors should
concern in mind while performing the role of a marketing manager.

For this post, I have applied in the Tesco’s which is the UK’s largest supermarket and has the largest channel of
distribution (Jung et.al, 2013). Tesco has all such opportunities by which one can want in order to build their
career. Being in Tesco can exhibit my strengths and improves over my weaknesses. Being graduated in a
marketing course reflects that it helps in the long life of my career. Career is always followed by proper
planning as I have also my career planning in marketing (Arslanagic-Kalajdzic and Zabkar, 2015). Without
planning is like walking on deform road and potshard to lead the path of success with synchronization. To
become the marketing manager of Tesco reform and retrieved my career in all aspects and in all ways.
Suitability reflects ones’ reflection of work. Giving our best is not enough all the time, the marketing manager
of Tesco demands suitability in the company. It’s not necessary that you should be perfect, you should be
suitable and then you can be perfect for the company. Sometimes we did our best but lacking somewhere
(Christopher and Peck, 2012). This can only be achieved by feedbacks and other sources of suitability. The
psychometric test helps to enhance aptitude learning capabilities. Many recruiters take this test before recruiting
anyone in their organization, Tesco did the same. The company not only relies on test only but prepare a very
good and fine test that is not to crack. Once who crack that means he or she is suitable for the job and position
of a marketing manager of the company Tesco. This test standardizes one and reflection his or her inner

the future outcomes with its results. This test is predictive in nature as it directly reflects
one’s skills and working abilities (Kea, et.al, 2012). It’s become a norm to take this test
before recruiting employee in the company. Tesco is such a leading brand which requires
only skilled marketing managers. After setting my target I can analyze my suitability by
clearing the Psychometric test.
In my opinion, this test helps in knowing my strengths and weakness which can be enhanced
and worked out. It’s very obvious that no one born perfect but perfection can be achieved by
knowing one’s strengths and weaknesses (Hossain, 2015). There are various methods which
can reflect one’s strengths and weakness in the corporate world. But when it comes to self-
analysis, it can be through seminar feedbacks, interviews and many such. Being selected and
appointed Tesco is not the only target. Sustainability and retention also matter a lot. We can
be selected once but we can’t survive for long. Self-enhancement should be there in order to
build a successful career in the Tesco Company. I shaped my career like this after setting my
target of being a marketing manager in Tesco UK. Seeing the working structure of Tesco, it

one’s skills and working abilities (Kea, et.al, 2012).
Seeing the working structure of Tesco, it
can be summarised that it requires an effective vision to judge the outcomes. So I am lacking
somewhere there.

Overcome of weakness
According to me, weakness can be improved and can be further used as our strengths, this all
corporate world demands. I found out that I didn’t have a better and secure vision in the role
of marketing manager which sometimes leads me in dilemma (Magnusson et.al, 2013). A
clear vision helps in knowing the setting targets results. This can be raised by practicing
current market trends; we remain in touch with each and every demand of the customers.
Secure vision is the result of a secure company future. Being the marketing manager its holy
duty to take care of the company’s secured future (Magnusson et.al, 2013). To deal with the
unconditional results which may occur sometimes by wrong decisions or any uncertainties?
Now to turn this uncertainty into another opportunity is the role of marketing manager
demands in Tesco. For instance, once Tesco failed in one of its product execution because
that product has already launched by the competitor company. So in such a situation, the
marketing manager plays an effective role (Cross et.al, 2015). Only he can submit his ideas of
how to protect the product from being failed in the market. By using effective marketing

strategies, perfect and secure vision can be achieved. So to have vision skills in the role of a
marketing manager is very fruitful for the company.
Role of marketing manager in a company like Tesco is very delicate, one single mistake can
disturb the whole process of execution because is a very vast market of the supermarket or
grocery. Rivals and other start-ups of grocery supermarket give tough competition to the
Tesco. The marketing manager remains alert all the time to maintain the hierarchy of the
company (Repanovici, 2012). Not only, has that marketing manager of Tesco given a training
programme to understand the marketing standard and structure of the UK's grocery market.
What customers wanted what they demand, seasonal changes and many such factors adapted
according to the market? All such also provided by the company
Most of the times, the manager has many clues and ideas but failed to present it in front of the
committee because of the lack of knowledge. We lack somewhere because of its incomplete
knowledge. So what requires being more presentable is having complete knowledge of what
manger is presenting in front of the company (Terpstra et.al, 2012). Knowledge can be
enhanced by completing surveys, knowledge of the customer demands, current market trends
and most important is current market standards. According to me, the marketing manager
should always work in accordance with the marketing standards. The present standard should
be met with set goals and vision.
Conclusion drawn on the analysis of weakness identified
According to me, this reflective commentary gave me a brief analysis of how to be retained
in the company like Tesco. Survival for long is not possible in long because Tesco believed
in changing of its marketing manager in every after a fixed period of time (Neystadt et.al,
2012). The company believes that a new marketing manager comes with new ideas and new
opportunities. So it is quite difficult to sustain there for long. For this, I can enhance my
abilities and skills which met the needs of the new marketing managers. not only this it has
also come to know from this commentary that working in Tesco is not easy also one has to
pass from many controversies and uncertainties. So to prepare myself for such things boost
my confidence and also enables me to beat every worst condition in the company where I see
my future.
