INTRODUCTION Personal and professional development is the process of enhancing the qualities that are required by individuals to meet their career goals and objectives. It is very important for all the students to make sure that they are able to develop all their skills whether these are related to study or employability because it can help to attain growth in future(Avidov-Ungar, 2016). This report is based upon the analysis of the way in which the whole module and the tasks performed earlier contribute in the development of different types of skills. These are communication, research, ICT, team work, time and self-management and problem-solving qualities. For the purpose of creating the reflective journal Gibbs reflective model is used and there are six different stages of it which are description, feeling, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. MAIN BODY The way in which completionof the task and modulecontributedin the attainmentof employability and study skills Gibbs reflective model is one of the main models which are used for the purpose of reflecting upon personal experience. There are six different stages of it which could be used by individuals to reflect upon the situations which were experienced by them while completing a module or performing specific task. This model is also used by me to reflect upon the way in which the previous task and whole module of professional and personal development. While studying in the university tutors assign different types of projects to all the students which are required to be completed by them. When I was studying in the university different tasks related to leadership, corporate social responsibility and other topics were assigned. By working on all of them I was able to enhance my skills study and employability. The detailed analysis of my experience is as follows by using all the stages of Gibbs reflective model: Description:While studying in the university the tutor assigned different tasks so that all the modules to complete the course could be completed properly. In order to meet the career goals, it is very important for me to perform all the tasks successfully. All the students in the class were required to complete the tasks within specific time limit. At the time of submission, I complete the whole project successfully and submitted it to the tutor (Bennett-Levy, 2019). I 1
wanted that I should complete it before the submission date so that I can analyse it and make proper changes to score higher marks. Feelings:When the tasks related to leadership and the whole module of personal and professional development were assigned to me, I felt little low as it was not good in ICT, self and time management, problem solving and team working. Due to this I was afraid that I will be able to complete the project or not. In order to complete the whole project, I took help of my friends and classmates and they helped me to complete my task successfully. While completing the module of personal professional development I was thinking that it has helped me to bring best out of me so that I can attain my career goals and objectives. When the project was submitted by me, I was feeling very good as I submitted on time and completed all the tasks successfully. Evaluation:The whole module of personal and professional development was very important for me as it was focused with the development of employability and study skills. When the tasks of it assigned to me, I was not aware of the details of topics. In order to get information of them I used my research skills and gathered knowledge about them. Apart from this, I also worked very hard so that I can accomplish the goals. The previous task helped me to develop my research skills as it was used by me to gather proper information of all the topics that were assigned to me while studying in the university(Davies, Curtin and Robson, 2017). The thing which was not good for me was the completion of the project on the same date of submission. Due to this, I was not able to check my work and make improvements. During the completion of module, I enhanced my self and time management, problem solving, ICT and communication skills. I asked my friends and classmates to help me which enhanced my communication skills. They helped me to complete the whole project and all of us helped each other which improved my team working capabilities. I was also having very low knowledge of information technology but the tutor helped me to working with it which also helped me to improve my ICT skills. Time and self-management skills were also enhanced by me by making sure that I manage all my work properly and try to complete it before the time limit. The whole module and the tasks of it helps me to enhance my study and employability skills. All of them will be used by me to make sure that I reach to my career goals in future. With the help of all the skills I can also complete all the future tasks successfully and score very good marks. Analysis:Whilecompletingtasksof moduleI wasverymuchfocusedwiththe completion of it which helped me to complete the whole project successfully. Apart from this, all 2

the classmates, friends and tutor supported me to make sure that I work on my project and complete it properly. Some of the things didn’t went well because of my weak skills such as communication, problem solving, ICT etc. The whole module helped me to understand the importance of communication and team work because by working in groups all the individuals can complete all the difficult tasks successfully. Apart from this, the module also helped me to make sure that I overcome all my weaknesses so that possibility of failure in future tasks could be ignored(Kroll and Dussias, 2017). Conclusion:From the whole module of personal and professional development and its tasks I learned various things. One of the main learning of mine was importance of proper communication. If a person is not able to interact with others then it will be very difficult to ask them for help and complete a difficult task successfully. I also learned that team working is also very important for all the students as it can help to reduce the level of difficulty of different tasks as each and every person can handle the tough tasks according to their capabilities. Apart from this all the tasks that were performed by me while completing tasks of the module I also enhanced my research, problem solving and other qualities which were beneficial for me to reach career as well as study related goals(Mahlanze and Sibiya, 2017). If I need to handle any situation like this in better way then it is very important for me to make sure that I should make proper schedule for all the tasks related to project. It can help me to meet the predetermined goals of the task. In order to get positive results, I could have completed the tasks of the module before the submission date as it would have helped me to make changes in the project. Action plan:This stage of the Gibbs reflective model is related to the steps which could be taken in future to handle same type of situation. If I will be working on the tasks similar as the tasks of module of personal professional development, I will be required to make sure that I am able to perform all the tasks on time. I will also be required to make schedules for all the activities so that I can make sure that all of them are performed properly. Apart from this I will also be required to make sure that I am able to gather proper information of the topics which are assigned to me as it will reduce the difficulties in the attainment of goals related to the tasks (Markham, Gentile and Graham, 2017). CONCLUSION From the above project report it has been concluded that personal and professional development is the process of analysing the skills that are weak so that improvements in them 3
could be made. With the help of it, all the students can make proper changes in their employability as well as study skills. Apart from this, it can also help to analyse the steps that should be taken in future so that all the career goals could be accomplished successfully. While writing a reflection, different model could be used. Gibbs reflective cycle is one of the best models which could eb used for this purpose. There are six stages of it which are description, feeling, analysis, evaluation, conclusion and action plan. 4
