modern era, famous and successful personalities write blogs so they can tell people the ways
which they have adopted for attaining success. By reading these books and blogs, an individual
can reach goals relating personal and professional development.
I am already using most of the above-mentioned methods. By conducting own SWOT
analysis, I found that I do not have good communication skills. After attending different
conferences and online motivation lectures I am working on my weaknesses.

Whenever a person learns new skills it develop his/her personality but at the same time it
also provide various benefits to the company in which that person work. Below are some of the
major benefits of self-managed learning:
To Individual:
When someone take responsibility of finding own flaws and they remove them then it
pours confidence in his personality. These skills are necessary for attaining long term
success in the career.
While working in a team, an individual learns different things because he/she get a
chance to work with various kinds of experts. Sometime acquiring additional knowledge

To the organisation:
If an employee gains some new skills, then company can use it in attaining organisational
goals. They can promote worker and allot fresh task to them which he/she can effectively
perform by using newly acquired skill.
Self-management learning reduces the training and development expenditure of an
enterprise. If staff members will take own responsibility for continuous growth then they
company does not need to spend huge sum on teaching them latest and necessary

4.1 Identification and solution of work based problem
Tesco is popular organisation in retail sector. When an enterprise operates at such a high
level then facing continuous trouble it normal problem in the business. Out of various issues,
below are the prime problem which my firm (Tesco) is facing in recent time:
Less job satisfaction – Number of strikes and conflicts in the company are continuously
increasing. Some employees are regularly complaining about work pressure and lengthy working
hours.
Poor advertising strategy – Tesco is not known for their aggressive marketing and
promotion (Hadar and Brody, 2013). Their competitors are getting competitive advantage on
them because they are telecasting their attractive advertisement in the prime time.
Huge debt burden – Tesco is facing issues relating to improper use of financial resources.
Incidents like Brexit made a huge negative impact on the business of the corporation.
Solution
If employee will get continuous and necessary training then they can accomplish their
work in less time and problems relating to lengthy working hours can easily get resolved.
If more qualified and talented professionals are recruited in organisation then they can
solve the trouble of wrong advertising strategy and utilise financial resources of the
company in appropriate manner.
4.2 Learning style to solve various issues
Problems are part of the business, some of them have ability to derail the operations of an
enterprise. By using oral method of learning style, significant information to the employee can be
communicated in short period of time. Needs of workers are different, some had issues relating
to long working hours while other had problem of work pressure (Wilcoxon, Remley and
Gladding, 2013). If they listen some motivation speech from senior management then their
thinking can change. This strategy can solve major problem of the organisation. By using
visuals in training session, the issues of quality advertisements can get resolve. If create team of
the corporation will see attract commercials of competitors enterprise then they may get better
idea about creation of good adds. These troubles can be soled at operation level. Finance is a
difficult topic, if people working in this department enhance their skills by using logical style of
learning then they can make better tactics for fighting small issues (Sargeant, Bruce and

their long term growth.
4.3 Time management strategy
Managing available time is very important for attaining own and organisational
objectives (17 Essential time management skills, 2017). People who manage their time in
effective manner can easily achieve the goals which they have set for themselves. Below are
some strategies of time management:
Set aims according to priority – Most of the people fail in their life because to do not
understand the priority of the work. Sometime they spend many hours in task which is not going
to teach them single thing (Pillen, Beijaard and Brok, 2013). If a work is not important and does
not have any relation with set goals then it should be done in free time. Significant task should
always be done on high priority.
Clear focus on daily activities – People generally concentrate on result, this is a wrong
strategy because they should focus on process. Confusion are main reason behind unable to
attain the objective. If someone have clear goals then they can perform their work in appropriate
manner.
Patience – Normally people ignore this term, impatient people make more mistakes in
their life so one should keep patience according to the situation (Murdoch-Eaton and Sandars,
2014).
he strategy of keeping patience worked for me. Instead of proper analysing a situation, I
generally take decisions without discuss matter with various experts. When I figured out this
problem, I adopted the tactic of giving more time to the work which I may not not enjoy in
current scenario. I learnt that sometime keeping patience can solve various troubles of one's life.

3.1 Requirements for execution of development plans
For long term – Accomplishing these types of targets need lot of time (Forte and Flores,
2014). An effective process is needed for this removing one of my biggest problem i.e. impatient
nature. Sometime I give wrong advice to my juniors because of I do not listen them properly and
try to solve their problem in short period of time. The first requirement of my plan will be
finding a good coaching class of meditation. Time and money would be the most important
things that will be needed in implementation of this plan.
For short term – Working on my knowledge relating to technology is currently a top
priority for me. I have to buy some soft-wares which my company is using so I can work on
them and give more time for developing this skill. I will take assistance from my friends for
acquiring this talent, this requirement is essential for my learning process. I also need to find the
appropriate online tutor who can teach me various method for improving my communication
skills. This is an importance task and I have to spend huge money and time on the execution of
self development plan.
3.2 Documenting planned activity
Following are some significant steps which I have to follow for in the learning procedure:
1. The first thing to contact my friend who has good knowledge of technology. I have to set
a time for taking classes from him and bring all the necessary gadgets and books which
he wants me to buy. Accomplish this work may take 3 months.
2. I do not like to aim two goals in time so once I acquire decent level of knowledge
relating to technology then, after three months, I will start working on my
communication skill. Online classes will be the methods which I will adopt for
improving my speaking and writing ability. This task will take around 6 months.

9
3. After accomplishing my short term targets I will start working on major problems which
is related to patience. This work will start after completion of 9 months.
3.3 Comparison between own skills and original aim
Reviewing the efforts which I have put on attaining my personal and professional
development is necessary for future growth. My communication skills are better than earlier and
most of the senior and subordinates are praising me for this. But I did not achieve my targets
relating to acquiring more knowledge about technology. I still face many problems in working
on various soft-wares. It is difficult to ascertain the success of failure regrading my long term
goal i.e. to increase my patient and improve my EQ. But most of my family and staff members
are told me that they have seen some positive change in my personality. This means that I have
attain limited success in short time period.
3.4 Plan up-gradation
Instead of learning too many soft-wares in one time I have to focus on studying one
application and get mastery on it (Dixon and et. al., 2014). This the time period for attaining this
objective is also needed to be modified. In future, I have to set some aggressive goals relating to
working on my communication skill. I have successfully developed public speaking quality but I
have to work on my writing because my senior want to improve this area. The time period of 2
years for enhance patience will get shorten to 1 and a half month. I have attain some rapid
success in this field and by maintaining same pace I can easily achieve my new goals.
CONCLUSION
At the end, it can be concluded that there are many learning styles and one should choose
appropriate one according to the need their suitability. Personal and professional development
plan can identify the mistakes that is present in an individual, it can analyse current and future
needs. Continuous learning can help a person in removing many flaws that may be present in
their personality. By using various mode like online coaching, attending seminars, etc. one can
work on their problems. Taking feedbacks from co-workers and family members is important for
finding the success which an individual have achieved in attaining their objectives. Modification
of personal development programme is essential for attaining upcoming and missed goals. A
sound development plan can provide great assistance in continuous growth.
