1. INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development aids to manage the learning of the person in order
to have better growth in the career (Bennett-Levy, 2018). It is formal plan that aids to evaluate
the difference better effective and inefficient skills of the learner. It aids to enhance the tactical
skills set. This is very helpful in order to manage the own learning and growth throughout the
career. With the aim of developing and keep the knowledge up to date aids to conduct the whole
work in the safely, legally and effectively collected. Hence, it can be stated that professional
development can be useful in terms to have wide variety of specialised training, better
professional knowledge, competence and effective skills (Wald and et.al., 2018.). It is helpful in
order to enhance knowledge and skill set. Hence, it can be stated that enterprise commitment to
employee development can be useful in order to increase personal job satisfaction and employee
motivation.
The present report is based on to develop skills in order to pursue career ambition in the
field of construction. Furthermore, this report will focus over the various things as to evaluate
the skill with help of SWOT analysis, identification and justification on choosing career path.
Lastly, recommendation has been defined in order to get the job done in the chosen field.

Evaluation on skills-
In order to evaluate the own skill, the in2dividual need to conduct SWOT analysis so that
the proper evaluation on strength, weakness, opportunities and threats in terms to making the
career in construction business can be defined effectively (Schrand, Jones and Hanson, 2018). It
is effective framework that aids to develop and gather the depth insights about the skills of an
individual.

I am expert in building and mechanical
knowledge.
My coordination skill with team is proper.
I am very comfortable and adapt with the

I have critical reasoning skills.
Weakness
 My time management skill is not so
effective due to it I have to face failure

With the advent of techniques, the all over industries have transformed. Hence, social
media platform and on demanding streaming services have changed the media and
entertainment. In addition to this, it can be said that the digital based mobility firms are
challenging the old line auto-makers. Thus, I want to pursue my career in construction business
as my future dream is to shaping the construction insight to redesign the industry.
The construction industry plays the crucial role for the government sector in both
developing and developed economies. It is the sector that creates the jobs, drives economic
growth and provides better solutions in order to address the social, climate and energy
challenges. This is the industry that is always kept on changing and evolving. In order to have
the sustainability, it is essential to deal with the kind of technical adaption. I must say that
technical advancement is one of the factors that has made the construction business work safer
and easier. In the present scenario the enhancement in the Prefabrication and modular
construction became popular. I need to work with this industry so that I can able to become

technically advanced and proficient. In this time, people are widely focussing over the
sustainability. Thus, construction companies can perform their activities in the effective manner.
3 Matching skill a per the career ambition-
Skills Needed to improved
Creative skill Being civil engineer, I am expert in creativity
and this aids to enhance my career in
construction business.
Managerial skill Sometimes, due to work load I became unable
to focus on the task and that gives me
unwanted result.
Communication skill I am good in making communication in both
modes written as well verbal.
Command skill I am good at commanding. Although, I make
mistake in division of work and this affects my
all work in negative manner.
Multi-tasking skill I am good in performing the task in multi
manner. This creates work load pressure on me
and it affects my whole work.
Time management skill I am not good at managing the time, it is very
crucial to manage the all thing in this business.
I use to procrastinates the things during work
load and become unable to manage it properly.
Identification of gap in skills- With the help of application of Gibbs reflective cycle, the gap can
be identified and better step can be taken towards it (Gibbs' reflective cycle, 2019). Thus, it’s
defined in following manner as-
Description- In order to be effective in construction business, it is crucial to have managerial and
time management skill in all the business activities. At the time of performing the activities I was
not good at managing activities and task as per the time and these things has affected all my
performance.

Feelings- At this, my all work was affecting in badly manner. Hence, it was situation in which
my colleagues get affected. In this, I was unable to use my skills properly. In order to cope up
with it, I prioritize the each task as per the deadline and it aids to accomplish the task effectively.
Evaluation- By prioritising the each task, I felt that all things can be accomplished. The things
started to get achieved within the given time. I planned each things effectively and then I went
for evaluation with the actual performance and this leads me to find out the deviation between
actual and planned performance. With help of it, I became unable to take corrective actions.
Analysis- I started to make comparison between the thing and it aids me to give the better results.
In this situation, the work load has hindered my overall growth and it leads me to get distracted.
This thing leads me to affect all over things and also leads to have negative result.
Conclusion- Hereby, it can be stated that by prioritizing the things and managing the all things
effectively, the things started to become improvised. In order to make it more improved, I will
divide the task from the next time so that I can have better and positive results. With help of
proper division of task I can get proper and desirable results.
CONCLUSION
Hereby, it can be concluded that personal and professional development aids to have
better learning and growth throughout the career. With the help of developing the skill an
individual can perform their task in better mode. It ensures to conduct the each in safely, legally
and effectively manner. The present report is based in terms to career ambition in the field of
construction business Furthermore; report has covered the following things as to identify the
skills as per the skills for the construction business, to find out the strength and weakness of
skills so that better improved steps can be taken towards it. Thus, Gibbs analysis has been used
to identify the gap between skills to carry out the business of construction.
Recommendation-
On the basis of above, the recommendation has been defined in below defined manner as are-
1. In order to have career ambition in field of contractor, the person should have better
creative skill so that he can do his things in better manner.
2. The person must have good managerial skill so that he can able to manage the whole
things in better manner. Thus, the construction business need more managed things so
that desire profitability can be achieved.

3. In order to be effective, the time management skill of person must be in effective manner.
He has to perform his things in better manageable manner so that better profitability and
productivity can be generated.
4. An individual should be comfortable and must have technical knowledge. With help of
technical advancement he can able to perform his things with more creative skills.
5. If someone want to build career in construction business, that person should have good
command on mathematic and language literacy. By the use of critical reasoning skill the
individual can perform activities in better mode.
