INTRODUCTIONPersonal and professional development refers to a way individual sets out their goals, mission, strategies etc with the aim of enhancing knowledge related to specific field (Wykes andet. al., 2015). Culture is an important elements in the development related to health and socialcare as it assist them in performing the work ethically. For this report, H&SC sector is taken forconsiderations in which personal values will be explained by taking example of working with thesector. Role of personal culture and how it affects users of services will be described by takingfunctional example. Own skills and ability will be identified for development and thendevelopment plan will be made accordingly. TASK 11.1 Compare personal values and principles with the support while working in H&SCValues refers to ideas and thoughts shared by the same community related to differencebetween good and bad, ethics and non ethics etc. Values and principles assist individual to shapetheir career according to their past knowledge and experience. I belong from Romania which hasneighbour countries like Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova etc and has Romanian culture from thebirth. Whole country has different type of people from various background but more than 85% ofthe population comes from the Romania culture only which solely focuses on hierarchicalsociety. One of the important values which is possess from my culture is equality to all thepeople and eradicate all the factors of discrimination so that every one can live happily. Theyprefers to use title and surname until and unless someone demands call them by their name.People of Romania do not trust strangers people and prefers to stay in privacy in most of thetime. In context of health care, Romanian does not prefers to visit hospital due to trust issuesthat's why conditions of the H&SC sector is negative in nature. Due to poor conditions of healthcare, country suffers from diseases like lungs cancer, AIDS, underweight baby, problem relatedwith uterus etc. So according to H&SC, worker should not discriminate the patients on the basis of age, gender, sex etc as it is unethical in the industry. All the patients arrives in the hospital should getproper treatment by avoiding discrimination from mind (Stoddart and Evans, 2017). On the otherhand, other factor is equality to people. Whenever any individual comes for treatment then Ialways considered them a patients instead of male, female, children etc as all are equal. Privacy1

is all one of the factors which I luckily got from my Romanian culture. Details of every patientsis secured and I have no rights to share those details to third person as it is illegal and unethicalin the laws of HSC (Girotti, Park and Tekian, 2015). So it can be said that all those mentionedvalues has helped me at the time of working by enhancing my motivation level to a certain level.1.2 Personal culture influence role in supporting user of H&SCCulture which every individual possess comes from the society where they are living andtheir life time experience in that culture (Stewart, Jameson and Curtin, 2015). If culture possessfrom the society is positive then it will create a favourable environment in the future by living inother society or while working and vice versa. Romanian culture states that every citizen shouldperform their roles and responsibilities by following the path of ethical as it will help them tomake the decision correctly while working resulting in better performance. For instance, asabortion is legal in Romania but any girl comes who is under 16 for abortion then it wont taketime to reject that patients treatment as it is illegal according to laws and Romania culture. Sothis time, culture makes a positive impact on supporting use of HSC.As mentioned above, Romania culture says that person should never discriminate on thebasis of any aspects, it makes a favourable impact in my working career as I always put all mypotential while doing clinical practices so that high quality of services is provided to the needyperson. On the other hand, some culture elements make a negative impact on my working asRomanian culture depicts that they prefers privacy and did not openly talk to the strangers due totrust issues. So as a practitioner, I continuously have to meet random patients so I have facedproblem in the starting as I could not be able to properly communicate with the patients. But asthe time flows, I have adapted my behaviour according to the external environment and now I donot have any problem in making rapport with the clients. Other example is confidentialityinformation of patients, for instance client work is to explain every problem they are facingregarding the problem as then only doctors would be able to make the most effective treatmentplan. Role of doctor is to make the information confidential or concealed in nature so that thirdparty wont be able to take the advantage of it (Payne, 2015). 1.3 New development in personal values impact on working in H&SCAny development in the HSC will have a positive as well as negative impact on theworking of practitioner as it has a direct connection with the performance of employees. As inthe recent past, local authorities has amended their Care Act which now states that its the2
