INTRODUCTION
Personal development is defined as those activities that helps in improving identity,
awareness, developing potential, talents, building human capital, facilitating employability,
enhancing quality of life and contributing towards realisation of aspirations and dreams
(Agafonova, Bryukhova and Kaigorodov, 2015). Similarly, professional development means to
learn in order to earn professed credentials such as attending conferences, informal learning,
coursework and so on. These both are important for individual to develop themselves in order to
perform activities and operations. Personal and professional development helps to enhance skills
and knowledge of individual. The main purpose of report is to prepare career development plan
in order to identify potential skills and qualifications that are required to progress so that
individual as well as organisation goal and objectives can be attained. For getting place or jobs,
different tools are used by candidates are discussed in report. It has also covered CV of person
that identify all relevant information, skills and so on.

In order to look for relevant placements and jobs related information, individual has to go
through various apps, websites and many more. These provide relevant information about all
jobs and their criteria requirements. Some of the ways through which person look for placements
as well as jobs information are as follows:
Networking- The majority of job vacancies are not offered at marketplace as they are
hidden (Grima-Farrell, 2015). In this case, job seekers will find new ways for getting job through
help of networking. It is long way that helps in locating job opportunities which can be done
through online as well as from person. In this case, individual can join professional associations,
connect with them and attend events at schools, colleges. There are various types of online tools
such as LinkedIn, Indeed.com, CareerBuilder.com and many more which allow to network with
professional and know about opening of jobs related with various fields. Person can connect
themselves through social networking like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and so on.
Referrals- In this individual or person working provides referral of their friends, family
members who are searching for job. Here, job seeker does not have to search for jobs. The
employer provide incentives to employees for referring qualified candidate to organisation which
create win-win situation for everyone.
Job Boards and Career Websites- Job boards where used in traditional times for
posting employment opportunities as well as vacancies (Hildebrand, 2018). The government also
focus on providing job boards and banks who are looking for jobs can access it. There is an
option of job search engine at internet or career related website for opening of jobs like
CareerBuilder.com, Monster.com and so on. Such website works at quick speed than job boards
and used by large number of candidates or job seekers.
Job Fairs- This mainly target particular industries in which some recruitment fairs or
jobs are generalised. The advertisements will appear with various list of corporations will be

presented at job fairs. In this if job seeker is interested in companies then they have to bring their
resumes and CV to sell themselves for getting good jobs. There are many organisation that focus
on on site interviews with candidates which match their requirements.
Company Websites- If any individual is dream employer in their mind then they can go
directly career section of company's website (Lee and Choi, 2015). The person has to watch for
opening at their website get opportunity for better job which they are waiting from long time
period. They can prepare list of employers to with whom they want to work through websites. If
any individuals want to work in particular organisation then they have to wait for time to match
jobs according to their skills set.
Cold Calling- It is also they way for getting placement or finding job opportunity (Olsen,
2015). In this case, if job seeker does not find any listing of jobs posted for organisation then
they can directly make cold calling to know about opening of job vacancies. The individual can
use telephone, emails in order to do contact with organisation by finding details of contact at
company website or inquiring with receptionist. Job seeker directly find out upcoming or
existing vacancies from contact and send attached resumes through emails. Moreover, they can
ask information regarding types of jobs, skills required, qualities that organisation is looking for
in candidates.
