INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is to assist the individuals in managing their own
learning and development throughout their career. It is significant and important that they
constant to learn and develop to keep their abilities and knowledge up to data and make sure that
they continue to work safely, legally and efficiently. Professional development refers to the
constant process of learning and acquiring new skills for performing the work and task explicitly
and accurately by formal training activities or monitoring the behaviour of other workers
(Davies, Curtin and Robson, 2017). Professional development plan is included as list of
comprehensive activities that are required to develop in context of enhancing pre analysed skills
and competencies for the accomplishment of individual career aim and objective effectively.
Generally, personal and profession al development is the process by which the person engages in
the process of learning to meet the challenges and desire goal. It link with the development needs
of the individuals and team. Effective personal and professional development considers ensuring
the individual knowledge and understating of their area of expertise for their careers is always at
the highest potential level. This assessment will consider information regarding personal
development plan, PPD planning process, application of theory and reflective practice.
MAIN BODY
TASK 1
Define PDP
A personal development plan denotes to a written account of self reflection and
development that doubles up as detailed action plan utilised to satisfy academic, person or career
base goals and aims (Gorbunova and Sabirova, 2017). It is generally designed within the
working environment and when studying as well as works by permitting individual to set up and
establish their aims, observe their capability and shortcomings and find out the demand for
development.
Apply the PPD process to self development
The process of personal development plan considers 4 steps in order to self development.
The description of these all phases are as:

Step 1: Clear out vision- Within it, the person determine the main aim of own development. For
example, they are well aware with the purpose of development and which skills or abilities they
want to make improvement.
Step 2: Outline strengths and areas of development- It is another phase which denotes that
people will well aware about their self strengths and weaknesses (Hill and et. al., 2016). For
example, if a individual design PDP then they clearly familiar with their strengths and the skills
or competencies which they want to develop.
Step 3: Build person development plan- After having clarity about their all strengths and
shortcomings they should create a self development plan that which skills they will improve,
which time period it will consume and the ways of development etc.
Step 4: Review and adapt- Under this phase, the person can review the PDP to analyse that the
goal which he/she establish will be achieved or not and at which level the individual will be
successful to accomplish it and the area which needs more work etc.
Personal skill audit is connected to the process of making comparison in current abilities
and strengths in context of the skills and competencies that required for executing specific role in
amended form (Ahmed and Ward, 2016). Below defined is my personal skill audit that supports
me in evaluating my capability and skills:
