INTRODUCTION
Academic and employability skills comprise skills i.e. interpersonal skills, research,
analytical skills, communication and others that must have in individuals so that they can give
high contribution in organization’s success (Rowe and Zegwaard, 2017). This report is like
reflection in which discuss about employability skills that have developed while evaluating
leadership style and skills of successful leader.
TASK 1
The main goal of the presentation is to provide better understanding about different
leadership styles that have applied by Mr. Jeff Bezos.
There has an example of Jeff Bezos who is famous as successful business man and a
great leader in modern era (Warrick, 2017).
He has practiced different leadership skills and style to make Amazon company
successful in the technology sector.

In other word, leadership is the ability of leaders to manage and influence individuals or
group of people to coordinate together towards achieving common goal.
A effective leadership style always supports business to develop and set a vision and

intelligence, digital streaming, cloud computing and e-commerce.
Mr. Jeff Bezos is the CEO of the Amazon Inc. who has given high contribution in making

Transformation leadership style is quite different from others because it assists leaders to
communicate with the team in respect of determining required changes, develops a vision
so that individuals become responsible and perform different tasks productively.

activities that are performed by employees in the workplace. He clarifies all roles and
responsibility of individuals in the workplace so that they perform different tasks in

Democratic leadership style also follows by Amazon’s CEO through which he retains
highly skilled and talented staff in the workplace and improves productivity of
workforce.
Thus, CEO of Amazon acts as transformer leaders and encourages individuals to manage
their stress level during peak period as resulted company has enabled to achieve it’s
short-term and long-term goals (Rhodes and Bhawuk, 2018).
With this leadership, leaders enable to deal with different business situation by applying

Mr. Jeff Bezos is famous as situation leaders as well because he posses’ all characteristics
of situational leaders. So, he does not need more direction from others to deal with hostile

Reflection
Gibb’s reflective cycle is a self-reflection framework that practices by individuals to
express their experience and feeling which, they have experienced by event or learning. It is
designed by Grahams Gibb’s in 1986. I used this reflective model to share my experience and
feelings which I have achieved while evaluating and analyzing different leadership style and
skills of CEO of Amazon Inc. Mr. Jeff Bezos is the CEO of Amazon Inc who have practiced
different leadership styles and skills in order to lead success in the business (Gibbs' Reflective
Cycle, 2020). I have learnt numerous academic and employability skills which are required to
posses’ for becoming highly competent and career-oriented in future. I have learnt
communication skills that is one of the most essential skill because it helps to evaluate own
views in front of others. By conducing research on leadership style and skills of Jeff Bezos, I
understood that for effective verbal communication I need to coordinate my body gesture,
posture and language with my communication then I can communicate with other people more
effectively. In addition, I learnt that written communication skills is also one of the most crucial
skill that plays significant role to express individual’s thought. However, this skill can be
improved by learning new vocabulary, words that are used by people through emails. So, I
decided to improve this weakness by learning new words which posses’ similar meaning to make
my conversation effective. Research skills is one of the other skills that have developed by me
while evaluating leadership styles and skills of Amazon’s CEO which have practiced to make it’s
business successful in the e-commerce market. I have instructed to gather quality information
about Jeff Bezos’s leadership qualities and styles with authenticity, so I have conducted different
research to make my project highly authentic and effective. I also have learnt information
communication technology (ICT) skills while preparing this assignment. Generally, I have
practised different professional methods and technology to send mails to share my content and
thoughts to other. To conduct effective research over Amazon’s CEO, I require to manage time
then I can perform all tasks and activities within time period in respect of making my project
more successful (Oviawe, 2019). I also have faced numerous challenges while working on my
assignment such as I was not able to understand from where to start. This project was instructed
to complete in team that was one of the major issues for me because I never done it before. So, I

used Gibb’s reflective model to evaluate different study and employability skills which have
developed and improved while evaluating different leadership style and leadership qualities that
have applied by Amazon’s CEO to make it’s company more successful in the technology market
and achieved desirable outcomes (Aljuwaiber, 2016). This Gibb’s reflective model comprises six
stages:
Description: My teacher assigned research assignments to all students in which I also got
an assignment that was “a brief study about Amazon’s CEO leadership style, skills and
qualities through which Amazon has become highly successful business in its sector”.
However, I got to know about different skills that already existed in me while conducting
research. Even others must have to be developed and improved so that they can gain their
future aims and objectives. Assigned research project was effective rather than others
after managing time effectively. Thus, I got to know that I have ability to manage my
time, these skills will support me in future to gain my career goals.
Feelings: I really feel to relaxed, enthusiastic and happy to gain productive information
about different leadership styles and that have practised by Amazon’s CEO to lead it’s
team on right track so that company can gain it’s framed goals and objectives (Sweet and
et.al., 2019). Through this project, I have developed my existing skills, for which I was
unaware and leads high understanding about different employability skills and leadership
skills that are required to have in individuals to gain advantage of all opportunities in
future perspective. I really feeling good to know that leaders also require to have such
skills like communication skills, ICT skills, negotiating skills, social skills and decision-
making skills. While preparing my research assignment I observed that I was lacking
behind some skills which made me feel disappointed. So, I have decided that I will
develop and improve all such skills from which I am lacking behind because I know that
these skills will improve my personality and make me more suitable for higher posts.
Evaluation: While conducting research over my research topic, I observed that there were
some good skills which I posses’ like verbal communication, ICT skills and research
skills that helped me to communicate with people effectively and maintain authenticity in
collected information. But I also have faced various challenges as well such as inability
to communicate with people through email, inability to promote number of members in a
team to work in team productively so that effective outcomes can be received (Vasylieva,

2019). I also have realized certain issues while preparing presentation over the project, so
I have decided that I will improve my ICT skills so that I can work on different software
more effectively. I and my team were unable to coordinate with each other in order to
gain projected goals which have led various challenges in management but my time
management skills were effective because that made my team to be completed research
project on time so that profitable outcomes can be achieved.
Analysis: From the above discussion, it has been analysed that there were various skills
that can be developed and improved while making presentation such as creativity skills,
time management, communication, team-working skills and problem-solving skills so
that right decision can be taken on time. I also observed that individuals have limited
knowledge and time but when they work in a team in that state different personality and
skills improves work performance. There are numerous managers of the companies
adapts different leadership styles and skills in order to influence and motivates others to
put more efforts in their work so that productive outcomes can be received. I have
analysed that I require to improve my weak skills like problem-solving skills, time
management and written communication because these skills will support me in future to
perform different tasks more effectively. Thesebrings attractiveness in my CV that
encourages MNC’s to recruit me during interview session (Al-Daaja, 2017).
Conclusion: it is second last stage of the Gibb’s reflective model in which portray result
which has gained through above discussion. I have decided that I will improve my weak
areas because these can impact on my overall performance negatively in future. So, I will
convert my weaknesses in my strengths then in future I can become good leader like Mr
Jeff Bezos (Gibbs' reflective cycle, 2019).
Action: It is last stage of the Gibb’s model that stated actions which are taken by
individuals after analysing their employability skills. I have decided to improve my
written and verbal communication to resolve issues effectively so that career goals can be
achieved within timeframe. That’s why, I have decided to make personal development
plan which will help me in improving my existing skills and knowledge to grow personal
