(1)INTRODUCTION
Personality refers to an identity or representation of a person that reflects his/her recognition I the
society. Development of a personality is developing an organized pattern of behaviour of an individual to make
him/ her distinct. Professional development means acquiring learnings to maintain or earn professional factors
such as improve job performance, job assignments, skill based training etc. Personal and professional
development together aims at helping individuals to manage their own learning and growth throughout their
career. This development is essential for individuals as it leads them to learn and keep their skills and
knowledge up to date and ensure them to continue to work safely, legally and ethically. Personal and
professional development can be initiated in various ways and activities such as on-the-job learnings, courses
and workshops, volunteering and computer based learning etc. This report will highlight on different skills and
qualities in an individual, how these skills match the type of career the individual want, career ambitions on the
behalf of these skills and qualities, identification of strengths and weakness of individual's qualities and its
application for their growth will be studied(Kail and Cavanaugh, 2018).
(2) Identification and evaluation of my own skills and career ambitions-
I prefer to choose Human resource manager as my career job profile and I consist following traits and skills of
personality which can be explained and evaluated in the SWOT analysis model.
Strengths-
1. Completion of post-graduation in Human Resource Management studies from Howard University, UK.
2. Strong Communication skills.
3. Good Interpersonal skills in working with the team.
4. Confident and dynamic nature along with pleasing and satisfying personality.
5. Presentation skills and good speaker.
6. Good at convincing people and making them work accordingly.
7. Technological knowledge on all the latest softwares in computer programs.
8. Maintaining dignity with the people and also manager relations with them.
9. Able to plan and organise various resources and tasks to perform a particular assignment.
10. Good at written communications and able to draft letters and reports regarding the business in a formal
manner and in correct format.
Weaknesses-
1. Lack of experience and fresher in the industry.
2. Don't feel comfortable in long meetings and work in tied up schedule.
3. Hesitation in asking counter questions on anyone's suggestion.

4. Can't perform extra, beyond the scheduled working hours.
5. Can't organise work according to the prescribed time and manage the activities and their completion
before deadline.
Opportunities-
1. Opportunity to learn different techniques and skills from new job.
2. Better career options through various activities of training and development in an organization.
3. Opportunities to learn business ethics and behave in corporate environment.
4. Opportunity to show the skills being learned by me till now, in an practical world.
5. Opportunities regarding adopting a responsibility in an organization and accordingly fulfilling it.
Threats-
1. More number of individuals having same quality, are being applying for the same job.
2. Tricky and out of the box interview questions may be asked, which may be out of the expectations.
3. Job uncertainty(Lasswell, 2017).
Types of jobs I would prefer to work as according to my personality skills and traits-
I would prefer to work as an Human resource manager in HR department or I would prefer working in
retail sector as Sales manager . My statement is justified due to following reasons being mentioned-
1. I have excellent communication skills as mentioned in my strengths above, so this will act as an way to
perform and deal with people in the organisation (HR department) and also will help me to
communicate with the customers and turn their attention to buy more company products by clearing
their queries and doubts (in retail sector).
2. I also have good interpersonal skills, skills that are need to work with a team and contribute them. This
skill will help me in overall team management of human resources in an organization and contribute in
the team performance.
3. Due to my better presentation skills and being a good speaker, I would be able to present the contents
and information related to products in retail market to customers and buyers. This will in turn help to
increase the sales revenue and convey company's message to customers. Also, this skill will serve as a
weapon in explaining policies and plans of the firm to employees and other members of organization
and clarify their doubts.
4. Ability to convince people and manage the relations will help me in motivating, controlling and
increasing the productivity of employees. This skill will also help to bargain with the customers to buy
the product and maintain the customer relationship management.
5. Ability to plan and organise the activities, this skill will help me to organise different tasks to employees
and plan out the deadline of the schedule. It will also help me in planning out various sales activity
according to the market conditions, in retail sector.
6. As having the dynamic nature and pleasing personality, I can make people work for me in the
organization and manage all human resources effectively. Also I can build up trust image in the eyes of
the customers through this personality and make them turn to me(Hanko, 2018).

Identification of gaps in skills -
Skills Gaps
Knowledge Training I have been unable to attend any training programs in
past 10 months. I need to attend these training
programs in order tom keep myself updated from the
current knowledge and let me adopt new technologies.
Time management By having too much of workload in the recent months,
I am unable to manage things according to the time
and which creates stress for me.
Communication skills Along with the passing time, I had developed a habit
of having informal conversations to my priorities. I
need to switch on to my basics in order to overcome
this gap.
Coordination I am better at this skill but due to more workload and
stress I am unable to coordinate with my team
members . Still there is a room for me in this issue as
this skill is considered as one of my basics.
Self Control Again here lies the reason of workload and stress, I
need to prioritise my working activities and reduce the
amount of stress and maintain self control.
Confidence My confidence needs to be increased as lack of
research and reading is reducing my confidence level
down.
Technological skills I am good at this skill, but as along with the lack of
time management and workload, I am unable to keep
myself updated with the latest technology and thus
need to focus on this factor and find remedies to this
problem solution.
(3) Conclusion
From the above report it is observed that what skills and characteristics are been required to meet up
their job expectations. It consists of various techniques and skills of personal and professional development of
an individual and enhance his growth in the organization. The report also suggests how the timely upgradation
and training of an individual can lead to his career development. Further it identifies the gaps in the skills of an

individual and his lacking areas of performance and suggests different solutions to overcome them. Thus the
report concluded by explaining us the personality development skills that are essential in working for the job we
require and what all things can be done to create those skills.
(4) Recommendation
Based on the my current skills and other requirements, I have recommended solutions within a certain time
period to turn myself valuable enough to work for the job I can and want to. These solutions are being made on
the basis of my lacking skills for the job and considering my areas of improvement(Edwards, 2016).
