Introduction
The study evaluates the essential elements connected with a speech. The speech being
considered for the study is a speech given by former model and current leader Xenia
Tchoumitcheva. In this speech the speaker talks about her journey in the professional world and
the transformation of her career from a model to a self-made entrepreneur ("Xenia
Tchoumitcheva Leadership Speech University of St. Gallen", 2018). The hook used in the speech
was how she was perceived to be a model incapable of doing analytical jobs or becoming a
leader. Her beauty became more well-known at a time than her capabilities and she had to fight
this image that she had in the society. The credibility has been established as she is already a
popular successful leader. The purpose of the speech was clearly identified at the very beginning
of the speech and was in relation to her journey from a model to a successful entrepreneur. The
preview of the speech was a bit obscure as the speech started with a formal introduction.
Critique
The speech given by Xenia Tchoumitcheva progressed smoothly and relatively good
transitions were seen from sections to sections. For example- at first the speaker mentions about
the initial phase of her professional life. She also provides a small preview of her journey at the
beginning. Moving forward she explained clearly the various phases she went through and the
corresponding views of the society, media and the organizations she worked for in regard to her
life. She explains quite clearly how she faced mildly unwanted attention because she was already
a known personality when she decided to take up finance as a professional choice. The speech
was greatly focused as the speaker did not deviate from her points and kept a natural flow of her
speech (Abdul-Kader & Woods, 2015). The focus was always towards how her femininity,
