Introduction
Personal development in professional life is essential to overcome with many issues in
day to day life in an individual's professional career (Sinfield, Allen and Collins, 2020). It is
possible that most the issues and problems arise due to mismanagement and lack of resources
within an organisation. Anglia Ruskin University London is focuses on provide best range of
graduation and post graduation courses to their students. This university was founded in 1858 by
William John Beamont. The following file covers nature of the issue faced by this university,
solutions for the issues, reason for not adopting at least two solutions, one best solution for the
situation and justification that why it is opted.
Main Body
Nature of the issue faced by the ARUL
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic many universities including ARUL started their online
classes where students and teachers both face many problems. One of the biggest issue which is
faced by ARUL during this crises is effective communication with their students. They receive
many complaints from students and their parents that teachers are not focusing on students
abilities and skills properly and they are not communicating with them. On the other hand,
teachers are also complaining that their students are not attending online classes regularly and
few of the students are avoiding to share their problems openly with teachers which is not there
earlier when there is physical classes in university. When it is asked with teachers and students
that why all this happen then they put their own point of views (Beer and et. al., 2021). Students
have complaints that teachers are becoming less interactive in online classes as compared to
offline classes and secondly they also told that their teachers are not paying proper attention on
student's skills and ability, they are only hurry to complete the course at any how. Whereas,
teachers perspective is different and they convey that students are not taking their online classes
as serious concern which further develop lack of interest in paying attention in online classes and
due to this the attendance of students are declining day by day. Hence, the main issue in this
university is communication problem during online classes.
Solutions for the issues
When this problem arise then various departments of university provide various solutions
to handle this problem and the solutions are-

Administrative department of university suggest that teachers would communicate more
with students in their class and they are going to introduce new subject which helps to
enhance communication skills of students. They also told their staff to held regular basis
meetings with the parents of students to convey them that how responsively their children
are attending classes (Zakharova, Karpacheva and Mezinov, 2019).
HR department of university suggest that it is important for teachers to have separate
classes off those students which are non- iterative and and less interested in studies.
According to their point of view they suggest that these kind of students always disturb
whole class and due to them the students who communicate well get lesser chance to
solve their doubts. Hence, by having separate classes will help to enhance skills of
interactive students as well as interactive students.
IT department of university suggest that few extra curricular activities should be held to
enhance communication activities between students and teachers like singing classes and
art and craft classes through online only where students are open to show their talents.
This will help to open the shyness of those students who are afraid of stage fear.
Their staff department suggest that having counselling session with students will further
help to recognize the issues that why students are becoming less interested to
communicate with their teachers in online classes (Rughani and et. al., 2017). They
believe that analysing students issue is much important.
Finance department of university suggests that providing gifts to those students who
communicate well and for appropriate reason in online classes will help to develop
morale of students to communicate more and make their online classes more interactive.
This will also help to motivate those students who did not interact in classes. On the other
hand providing additional monetary benefits to teachers who help students to develop
their communication skills will help to control the factors which arrive from teacher's
side for this issue.
Reasons for not adopting at least two solutions
The following issue of lack of communication between students and teachers require
various kind of solutions because there are many factors behind this problem like lack of
confidence in students, stage fear, teachers behaviour toward students, lack of interest in online
classes and many others. Therefore, to solve the situation is is essential to find various kind of

solutions and analyse the pros and corns of each solution and adopt that one solution only which
has more pros than its corns. It is also beneficial to have various kind of solutions for one issue
so that in case one solution did not work then on the spot other alternative of solution will
adopted as soon as possible without wasting time on searching for solution.
Second and the most important reason behind adopting more than two solutions is that
there are various kind of students of having different factors for same issue (Eugenio-Gozalbo,
Pérez-López and Tójar-Hurtado, 2020). For example few students are not communication
because their concepts and they are unaware about the importance of communication skill in
their personal and professional life which will be mitigated by administrative suggestion of
introducing a new subject of communication skill enhancement. On the other hand few students
are lacking behind to communicate well due to the lack of interest in online classes which can be
mitigated by IT department solution of having extra curricular activities within classes to
develop their interest in interacting in classes well. Some students have the issue that they did not
get chance to speak in the class due to large rush of students in online classes and those who
speak in online classes their main aim is to disturb whole class and nothing else this will impact
upon those students who wish to clear their doubts in classes, they left behind to raise their
questions. Hence, to mitigate this issue HR department solution is effective where they suggested
to have different classes of those students who interact well in classes and those students will
have different classes who did not interact and disturb the class so that good and intelligent
students will get the chance to speak in online classes and clear their doubts and non-interactive
students will get more attention by teachers to develop their skills. Hence, this is the reason why
various alternative solutions are found and why university is not restricted to follow only two
solutions.
One best solution for the situation and justification that why it is opted
According to communication issue at ARUL university it is good to opt administrative
department suggestion that teachers must put extra efforts to communicate well with their
students and having a communication skills enhancement subject which will help students to
identify the importance of communication skills in personal as well as professional life.
Introduction of new subject will must include theoretical as well as practical knowledge to gain
communication skill like different types of activities will help to develop communication skill.
For example Group Discussion, Group Presentation and many others (Pastore, 2018). This will

further help to create interest to attend the classes of this new subject and interact more with each
other. This decision of introducing new subject will further help to develop improvement in
attendance of students in online classes.
Administrative department also suggest to have regular meeting with parents of their
students so that their parents will also get to know about the performance of their children at
university. This will also help to control student's performance from both side school as well as
home. Having timely basis meeting for online class will help the teachers to share the issues
which is created by some students to disturb whole class to their parents so that they will control
their activities while monitoring them from home when they attend any online classes. Secondly,
this type of meetings also help to enhance teachers communication skill by having conversation
with students and their parents personally (Myers and Cowie, 2019). Personal meetings will help
to share each other's issue openly. Hence, here students will share their issue that why they are
not interested in communication in classes well.
Conclusion
From the above information it is clearly concluded ARUL university which is located in
London has the biggest issue of lack of communication in online classes. When they were asked
to analyse report why this is happening then it is found that teachers and students point of view
are different with each other. Various alternatives of solutions were found to mitigate the issue of
lack of communication within the university in online classes where different departments
provide different solutions. The following report also concluded that university is adopting
various kind of solutions because there are different factors of this problem which can be solved
differently. In the end this report covers best solution to handle the situation which is given by
administrative department of introducing new subject of communication skill development and
having timely basis meetings with the parents of their students.
